I think I’ve gathered up all of the necessary hardware for the install...👍
Glad you got it figured out. Working 12-13 hours every day is not leaving me much time for anything else.

No worries, thanks for the help. I’ll get this installed next week!Glad you got it figured out. Working 12-13 hours every day is not leaving me much time for anything else.
Forgot one more thing to order is the hold down straps you linked to, just want to confirm before I order. Those straps are 12’ long and it looks like all we need is 2’ or less. Just want to be sure....👍Glad you got it figured out. Working 12-13 hours every day is not leaving me much time for anything else.

Curious, the straps I ordered from your link are about 3' long. I just tuck the tails into the box in case I need one for an emergency on the trail.Yes. Seems kinda stupid I know but that's the only way I see to buy them. Just cut off the excess and melt the end. I do leave the ones on the sides a bit long. Makes it easier to deal with since the space is pretty tight.

Finished my set up Terry. Used all the hardware you recommended. Still haven’t received my straps. Used some very HD Zip Ties on the box, found some straps that were 6’ at the hardware store later and used them on the cooler. Put a similar cooler as you used inside the box, for iced down food, and a zippered canvas bag for all the repair/recovery tools and still had room for a 10x12 tarp (monsoon season here) first aid kit and various other things. Those were probably the clip style straps I had on it originally. They are 40". They work fine but I've since changed to cam lock straps and updated the links and description on the video. The cam locks are easier to get tight and hold the box still a bit better.
That top ridgid box stay in place on rough trails?Loving my newest storage setup. Been thru a few different setups but this one works great. Everything mounts solid and doesn’t move. The floor is cool, did you fab that or buy it. And the ice chest hold down brackets are very cool too!!!! Did you make them, or buy them?

So happy with the end result on mine. Took ideas from other posts and combined them. That is what is so great about this site.
Did the whole thing for just over $200.00. Used a 1/8 inch steel plate, a Moose Utilities cargo box, a cool looking plate from derangedoffroad.com, some paint matching from an automotive paint supplier, and some design, skill, and hard work from a wonderful son who has access to a CNC machine, welder, and other tools at work .
STORAGE BOX: MOOSE UTILITY DIVISION REAR STORAGE TRUNK (Part 3505-0210) - Cycle Gear ordered it in for me.

That's the best looking box for a Talon that I've seen. In my opinion. So happy with the end result on mine. Took ideas from other posts and combined them. That is what is so great about this site.

I'm curious to know if you had to cut off the flag mount in order to make this setup work. Thanks, looks nice.Looking for ideas for storage in the Talon?
I have bought and returned several different storage boxes and tool box combinations. Finally found a decent setup for me but always looking for better ideas.
I ended up with a cheap Contico storage locker and cooler from Walmart. While the storage locker isnt the best quality and a little flimsy, it does fit awesome. Also found a 30 can cooler that fits nicely inside the box and leaves plenty of room for tools, recovery gear, etc. I used it over the weekend with straps holding it down but plan to mount it more permanently. It was a nuisance taking the straps on and off every time I needed a beverage.
Here are some pics of my setup. Please share yours!

Nope. Flag mount is still there. In addition, I have added the Tusk spare tire carrier as well. I have to roll the box just right to pull it out, but it is still easily get it in and out. Will post a couple of updated pictures in the near future.I'm curious to know if you had to cut off the flag mount in order to make this setup work. Thanks, looks nice.
