This is my favorite thread! To those who post photos here I say, "Thank You!".

I enjoy the nature photos - particularly the ones that include buggies, the group ride photos, and four seasons photos.

Please keep up the good work.

Love the angle of this picture, makes the 700 look like a RC car.
Its a setting on my phone called "Portrait". TBH, I have a hard time seeing the pics out in the field. It's a wonder any of them turn out good. My phone just doesn't go bright enough in the sun.

Yesterday was mostly no cell service, so between that and being back to a phone that identifies as a galaxy S10, I didn't get to post these last night. Got back after dark as well.

Old Cochran townsite, the Gila river valley, and north and south buttes...

After being out in AZ for years and seeing none, I came across the 3rd BigHorn sighting in the last year or 2. This guy was NOT afraid of me at all, and I was actually parked right where he is crossing, but decided to give him some room, lest he decide to take on my radiator. He actually watched me for a bit, but some oncoming jeeps finally hurried him across the trail. Times like this I wish I had a real camera, as there would have been great shots with some decent zoom...

Life and death in the desert...

After getting back up to the top of the mountain (and passing a parked P1000), I took the easterly route through walnut canyon in fading light, and snapped the last pics of the day...

Great shot, he blends in well. I've seen them in Box Canyon a few years back but not lately.

Now that I finally got my Talon's frame fixed I'll be back out there next weekend. Gonna ride support/sweep for a 2 wheeled memorial ride near the coke ovens next Sat.
Memorial ride?

Memorial ride?

2021 Saturday after Thanksgiving Memorial Coke Ovens Ride.

Sadly I never got to meet Don, but I did get to know Buddy, great guy that would always help the less skilled riders finish the ride. My 2 wheeled skills aren't good enough to do that ride so I run in the back in a SxS and lend a hand, tools, water or even a ride in the passenger seat on some of the harder sections when/where necessary. After the ride we go to Porters Cafe in Superior for burgers and beer!

Anyways, the wife made me a cranky turkey bagel that was delicious....at least the half I got to eat was. The other half got BLOWN off the back of the 700 and on the ground while I was eating.
Fortunately, the wind died down as the day went on.

I've posted pics of this old corral down near the Gila river a few times. The last time, weeds were thigh high, but today it was down to bare dirt...

As I pulled up I noticed...life and death in the desert. This turtle shell was laying there, minus the turtle (though some skins remains). Upon inspection, it looked like a field mouse had built a nest in it at some point. A rodent RV! Nothing goes to waste in nature...

These guy are all A riders and can navigate terrain I wouldn't even think about trying on my bike.

A well set up Jeep on 40"s in the area

This hill climb always gives a few guys a hard time.

IMG 20211127 113648359 XL

I waited here for the guys to head to the cokes ovens since they had to come back this way.

IMG 20211127 125631464 HDR XL

I've been through here many times before without issue but one of the guys got caught up in a rut.

IMG 20211127 135915232 HDR XL

I was told to stay left and I did but it was narrow and I got sucked in real good.

They tried to fill the rut with the rocks you see under my tire but I still couldn't get any traction.

IMG 20211127 140523017 XL

Lots of people out on the trail so there was no shortage of people willing to help. I was winched out in short order by a Jeep.

I haven't assessed fully but I don't think anything was damaged. I did assist with 2 flats and provided extra water but in the end I was the one who really needed the help!

Last pic on the way back to Superior, should have taken a pic of the 1/2 pound burger but by the time I thought about it I just about finished it. There's no way I'd do this ride on a bike, I feel sore all over just from doing it in my Talon.

Definitely some good riding up there. I wish our group would travel up there more often.

Where was that rut?

I've been wondering about the trail down from the top of the mountain to ajax mine since this monsoon season. It was getting narrow in places already.

I figure you're probably familiar with this spot below? The rut is not too far forward of where my buddy's front wheel is pointing. I'll ask my regular riding buddy who is way more familiar with the area than I
