I have been considering a snorkel for my P5 to get the intake up higher and out of the dust. I used 1 1/2” pvc pipe for the project. The lower horizontal piece is 9” long, the vertical piece is 31”, and the top horizontal piece is 9”. The top horizontal piece can be however long you choose. You will also need two 90 degree elbows, a hose clamp, and a 2” pipe clamp. I cut the factory intake pipe in two with a hacksaw blade. I then cut two slits in the end of the intake at the bottom so I could squeeze it down a little tighter with the hose clamp. I wrapped some gorilla tape around the factory intake and the pvc pipe at the bottom before I clamped it. I then drilled two holes in the c channel where the seat belt attaches for the pipe clamp to mount.

Sorry man, don't mean to be a dick but can't go without telling you some areas of concern with that snorkel build. It looks good but the size of the pipe has been reduced from 2" to 1.5" and given a much longer run. The tip, even flipped upside down will gather unneeded water and dust and makes it hard to prefilter. Cutting slits in the intake pipe and using Gorilla tape sounds a little scary too. Maybe that connection sealed good but if not you've done more harm than good. Check it by blocking the snorkel tip, it should choke and die.
For the $20 it costs to build one of these things...consider 2". Use a 2x2 Fernco to tie into factory pipe and it's all glue from there. Pantyhose for a prefilter works great on a conventional tip.
Call me an a**hole but I'd hate to see you have problems down the road and all I said was that it looked great.

I won’t call you any names. We all have our opinions. That’s what makes this country great. I put my hand over the end of the pipe without the factory end on it and choked it down. I really didn’t need the gorilla tape. Just used it for a little more sealing security. I’m thinking about going ahead and running the end of the pipe under my roof and putting a K&N filter over the end of it. This will keep out any debris at the inlet and it will stay dry under the roof. I don’t play in any water over a few inches deep. Mainly ride gravel and field roads.

Nice work and curious, do you notice more engine noise now with it that close to you're head?

Got up this morning and decided to mock up some more fittings to put a K&N filter on the intake pipe and have it under the roof. Don’t have the “new” fittings permanently attached until the K&N gets here on Sat or Mon and I make sure it’s where I want it.

I srarted same as Tiger 2x2 Fernco coupler.
Ran 2IN. PVC up behind driver inside cab.
Behind & above drivers head in the left corner attached to the roll cage I installed a universal K&N Apollo inline filter kit.
From the top of the filter assay. it exits through the roof back of cab just below top of Roof & close to driver side.
The air flowing over the top & along the side, prevents Most All of the dirty air from entering the Air Intake.
I've used this method several times all with the same results Air Filter maintence greatly reduced.
Along with this I take the OEM Filter completely OUT. ( less restriction more air in )
It's easy to check or service the Apollo Filter .
I check 3 or 4 ties a Year & CLEAN ONCE weather it needs or not. ( Usually Not )

Now for AIR Out.
Opened up the back of Muffler took 2 baffles OUT drilled & more holes in the 3rd.
Attached a 1 1/2 outlet then 12in long tailpipe. ( yes a tailpipe reduces noise ) about 50% as Tiger stated if your passenger tells you it Must be True.

Better mid rangePower noise level starts to increase about 1/2 throttle & above even then you can still converse with passenger or blow up doll Smitty.

Other Mods
Multi level receiver in th tail pipe picture .
Backup camera next to Air inlet the( camera is both ft. & rear )
extended mud guards are for tracks

Just because it's Different doesn't make it wrong just makes it Different.
This apply to methods & opinions we all have both.

the end

I do like the snorkel up by the cab, but have often thought of how to route it up under the hood, so it would be higher and out of dust from any back drafting, but never go around to that project before selling the machine.
