Pioneer 500 smoking when you start up and oil in rear exhaust. Any suggestions? Cleaned air filer and changed oil. Doesn’t seem to be using oil

Have you tipped the buggy on its side recently ? Check your air box for oil in it!

The air filter was completely clogged up recently with heavy dust. Cleaned it and changed the oil. Motor was low on oil and oil residue in rear exhaust

Bad valve stem seals will cause startup smoke.

If you're wondering what part of the engine is burning oil: if the piston rings are bad it will smoke more upon acceleration. If the valve seals are bad, you'll get more smoke when decelerating.

When the air filter is restricted as you describe causes a greater restriction in the intake, which causes greater vacuum levels. I suspect the higher vacuum levels pull oil past the oil seals and caused some smoking. I'm hopeful for you the seals and rings/piston are okay and would drive it some with caution to see if it cleans up with a clean filter/oil and as mentioned, I would watch it for a while before diving into the engine. A simple test would be to do a compression check on the engine and would be worth doing...
