snorkeled my p500 today. I just hooked on to the stock snorkel. I used a 2" rubber boot then went to 1 1/2 pipe up from there. The 1 1/2 pipe fit good thur the frame and rack. When finish rode down road didnt lose power or speed. This was easy and if the stock snorkel worked this one should.

Did you have to seal the air box or is it sealed from the factory

The air box seem to be seal from factory . All the lines going in have rubber seal on them. I have not drove though real deep water yet, but I have been to the seat and there were no water that entered. I am planning on silicone every thing I can for extra protection.

I'll probably do the same here is a pic of what I have built guess you can say my version of a snorkel.

Simply out of curiosity, why a triple stack? Or even a double that I've seen on some? I kept mine similar in length to the factory just relocated it higher, and increased the tube diameter to 2" the whole way? Is there any benefit to more inlets/length? Or is just cosmetics and or preference?

Had a feeling this question would come up so after studying it for the last week here is my thoughts . I picked the triple stack in an effort to simulate the baffles in the stock snorkel . The extra fittings should create enough air turbulence for proper fuel mixture so that I could take the snorkel all the way to the air box instead of just cutting it in also I chose 1 1/2 pipe for the snorkel and adapted it up to 2" at the air box

That's cool. Like I said, I wasn't sure if there was some science behind multiple pipes or not. Did you notice any difference in performance or noise at all then?

Didn't hear any change in noise as far as performance it seems to have alittle better throttle response I'm going to put an hmf exhaust on it that I think in conjunction will waken it up a bit also I'm looking into jetting the carb I think it's the same carb as the 500 rubicon but I could be wrong so don't quote me there

That electrical wire that plug in the top of air box. Did yall do anything to that or does it keep water out? and what the hell is it?

I think what your talking about is the air element which if I'm right is kinda like a mass air flow sensor it tells the computer the amount of air flow so it can adjust the fuel mixture and I left mine intact
