I need to polish some stainless steel with a little bit of deburring. Picked up this cheap ass tumbler and some rocks. Says right on the side light deburring and high luster finish.

Ran for 2 hours and parts look worse then I started with.
Finish was terrible.

So.
Someone school me.
What do I need for stainless?
Thanks. A82843555720be107d3cee6b9b0bbab9

Look for electro polishing in your area. Parts will come out like a mirror.

You need to use corn cob media and car wax. Put about a tablespoon or 2 of wax in there. It doesnt take a lot. Then run it about 4 hours. I do this with my rifle brass and it comes out real shiney.

I’m not sure what media would be best for stainless.. I would think it would need to be heavier

Depends on what he wants polished - it needs to be able to float in the media as the tumbler runs for sure. Crushed walnut shells also work

I have never tried rice. Sometimes you can get crushed walnuts and corncob at pet stores or maybe in pet section of Walmart. Any gun stores that carry reloading supplies by you ?

A bag of dried rice is good for drying out electronic devices also, I sure every one knows that though!
