I see lots of folks remove stock wheels and buy new wheels. Other than gaining some 'special' look with the new wheels, exactly what is the great advantage? Are stocks known to fall apart/break real easily?

I am considering getting better tires and use stock wheels, unless there is some problem with them that I am not aware of.

With stock suspension 28x10 tires are a common upgrade or with a lift or forward front a-arms 30x1p tires are common. With the stock rear wheels a 10" tire is pretty narrow and the tire beads are prone to picking up debris and leaking. I've been a lot happier with 14x7 wheels on all 4 corners.

OK, then I assume the front and rear wheels will NOT handle the same size tire?

Ignorance on my part, what is the width of the stock wheels?

I believe that they are 14x6.5 front and 14x8 rear. It's been a while

So I guess if you want one width all around, 10s are too narrow in the rear and 11 or 12s are to wide for the front??
I would think

28x10s are kind of a pair to mount on the stock front wheels but the bead seats really easy. Some guys are running 27x11 all around. I'd bet they are basically the same dimensions as a 28x10

I had 28x10 on my stock wheels.. they work fine. But as me mentioned. Rotating is nice, and a one size spare for all is great. Add in beadlocks and it’s a win win for 100 a wheel!

At the roundup I saw several people running 10 inch wide tires on stock rims.
Worked, but the rear wheels were really wide and looked like they could cause bead issues.
