Might as well start my build. Keep track of my finances... please leave your thoughts, concerns, experiences, and suggestions as I move along. Thanks HondaSxS members!
2018 P1000-5 deluxe. Yellow.
Upgrades from dealer: canvas roof and half windshield.

First thing I did was cap the gas line and move it behind the shroud where the air filter is. This is what I used on the end.

I usually name my vehicles as soon as I get them or soon after.. my truck is named Charlotte, Tacoma w/small lift, midnight blue. Anyways. Nothing came to mind except Honda..

Then after the first ride around the neighborhood(10-15miles) I spilled my Yeti all over my new interior two miles into it. Had to fix this ASAP! I got on the online and had my second upgrade in two days. SOO MUCH BETTER! Crazy Honda thought this s*** would fly?

So we splurged for this little guy. We’ve enjoyed it. Pulls nice. Enough room for the Honda, gas cans, water jugs, and some camping supplies.

Even though it says do not trailer with canvas top on, I did it anyways. Don’t travel far or highway speeds to get to riding. I got away with it for a few rides... but on one ride on the way home, it was really windy. I debated on whether to take it off or not. I said screw it. Gust of wind caught it threw two rods through the roof and on road somewhere.
I decided to leave the “tent poles” off and I like it. Flattens the roof. It’ll work until I make one.

Did the 100 mile maintenance, I usually don’t think I know more than the engineers that build my toys, so I always stick with the recommendations.. But with the noise of the Honda, and my farmers ear, I had to try something. I changed my oil to 10w-40. And my diffs to the purple, 75w-140.

It’s noticeably quieter and smoother!!

After finding out how far we could get on 1 tank of gas(we made it 110 miles with gas still in tank), my neck was killing me!! From constantly turning around checking rear passenger, cargo, dog and other drivers approaching. I didn’t want to add any width or a weak point on the outside ROPS. The trails we ride are TIGHT! So I added the Honda rear view mirror and mounted it “upside-down” so it didn’t hang so low. It covers the exact area I wanted! Happy with it.

If you like the shade of the Honda soft top but want something that will survive on the trail and on the trailer, the Alienshade soft top is great.

I was wondering about them. Do you have one? Pros, cons?

I had the same setup on my extended vent lines and had a filter clog. Ended up causing a leak on my rear diff.....
If you plan on keeping these on check them often. From just looking at mine you wouldn't have thought it was clogged.

Yikes. Thanks for the heads up. I would like to snorkel her, just haven’t seen/imagined anything I like yet. Then add all my vent lines to snorkel. That’s the safest without running them to the roof, correct?

How did you get a spotted cow?

One of our research stations is in Arlington, WI, and we deal with a lot of genetic/ag companies in WI. I’ll drive there once in awhile. The truck is always heavier coming back home... I’m about due for another trip. Lol. I love the cow, one of the best beers I’ve ever had.

I've honestly not seen the vent lines ran into the air intake. Depending on how deep you plan on going..... I've got all mine run up between the front seat and dump bed, then slightly faced down to avoid water from getting in from washing, rain, etc.
