Howdy from Texas!

I have had a 700-4 for years and love the machine. Just picked up a new to me 2016 1000-5 with 270hrs and 2,212 miles on it.

There is a whine that has me concerned that it might be more than the usual gear mesh whine I have read about.

I used a mechanics stethoscope to try and pinpoint the noise and I started to build a theory that the starter is not disengaging but this could very wrong since I have little experience with this setup.

Video with sound. There is a slight metallic rattle that can be ignored, I had the bed flipped up and tools laying in the floorboard.

Edit: video from another angle.

Looking forward to learning and sharing!

Thank you.

Welcome from the Putrid Swamp Run Michigan!

Nice Rig!
sounds like my 16’
More importantly. You have a 16’ do u have the clutch update? It was quite an important one. It was a campaign NOT a recall and its has expired so if u want to do it if it hasn't been done already its at your expense and highly recommended.
