In fairness I can probably throw a rock in about any direction from my house and hit an adult neighbor that doesn't know that is a climbing rig mostly used by linesman and arborists either. It isn't exactly something that was ever found in 70% of homes/garages/workplaces.
Many deer hunter have used them.

My dad was a machinist. I understand what these were used for, Except the dial/rotation item on the left. The point rotates and registers on the dial. Any ideas how it was used. The spring loaded/lock ID measurement tool at top is slick.

Again...a small (by percentage) subset of the US population.
Deer hunters ... 10 million or roughly 3.28% of the US population
Stands via climbing harness vs stands via another method (ladder or climbing stand or screw ins) vs a blind vs something else common I'm not thinking of off the top of my head....breaks that 3.28% down even further. Sure "many deer hunter have used them", but it doesn't matter.

My point that it wasn't in 70% of homes/garages/workplaces still stands.

Source for 10 million number ... just a quick google search and that was the first result.

Does it have any patent numbers on it? We can google around and figure it out.

Nope! I use a diff version for making mashed potatoes. you boil your potatoes and then put them in the ricer. turn clockwise to mash them into a "rice" consistency. Then add all your artery clogging stuff and mix it together.

It is also used to strain soups.

You might get in trouble posting that if it was not in 70% of homes or garages by Mr Baker. Lol
