Can anyone help me understand the Tie Rods across years?

Based on what I see on the market:
2015-2017 tie rods are $25 and up.
2015-2019 Tie Rods are $45 and up.
2015-2022 Tie Rods are $120 and up.

What I don't understand is, why does the $120 tie rod fit a 2015 and a 2022, but a $25 tie rod only fit a 2015-2017?

If I had to guess- based on looking at pics and such- They are the same, there's just been some part supercession, and a 2015 Tie rod will fit a 2021.

HOWEVER, I wanted to get clear with this group if I'm misunderstanding something here- Any reason why I can't buy a 2015 Tie rod for a 2021 (all other things equal?)

I'm really just trying to buy a spare tie rod in my parts kit in case I need to field replace in an emergency, but I also figure its a good learning experience. I know in 2017 the suspension did see an update, so it can be related there, but then I don't see how a 2019 and a 2021 would be different.

I'm not sure where you are getting your price from.
I had assumed the tie rods are exactly the same from the first P500 to a P520 made yesterday.
Looking at Partszilla they give the same part number and the same cost (sorry only 2 data points).

P500:
1677774848414

P520:
1677774899979

Same part number and same cost.
So, it should make no difference, get the lowest cost one.

Also, I have seen a lot of tie rods getting changed in the field, even wrote the book on it once upon a time.
But I have never heard of a P5 bending a tie rod - not saying it cant happen.

OK, took me a minute to find it - how to change the tie rod:

Hot tip in post #5, order a air cleaner band when you order the tie rod.
Makes for a clean installation.

Thats what I was trying to understand. I'm not sure how you got that "view" in partzilla because when I go look in partzilla it says "this product is ride specific" and then I put in the ride details and it tells me if it "fits" or not. There are a couple (like EPI) that say they fit 2015-2019 for example, and if I look places like Amazon or Ebay, a number of them have specific year ranges of 15-19 or 15-16. If I try to "reverse search" the part numbers, I was getting different answers... So thanks a lot for confirming for me! (I am aware that the one below thats 115 includes more than just the tie rod and thats why its more expensive... but that was also the one I saw that actually said it fit 2021)
