I've had my 700-4 deluxe for about a year now. I have about 300 miles on it and have run about 20 psi on all four tires.

Now I'm reading that 12 psi is a good tire pressure to use. However 50% of our riding is on pavement. We use our Pioneer around our property but do like to tour the country side where all the roads are paved.

Should I still lower to around 12 psi?

If they are stock tires, it will definitely help them last a little longer. I had Roctanes on my 700 and I ran them at 7psi.

I lowered all four to 15 psi (from 21 psi) and my wife and I drove around the side roads. Seem to be less bumpy.

Less air to cushion bumps. You may have to play with your pressures for the conditions you ride. 20psi seems like a lot. Too low though you risk a pinch flat, too high too bumpy. 😉

I run pavement 75% of the time . So I noticed an out of sync hum. I have 3k on the 700 since january. I checked my tire pressure and made them to book spec. Still the harmonic melody. So with the rear end being positracktion I jacked up the rear and checked the tire circumfrence and there was about 1,5 differance. I defalted one till they measured the same( about 4 lbs) and it made a big change in the harmonics. I used a piece of cargo tape to wrap around each tire as close to the middle and to the the same mark on the tape. Might save tire wear and rear differential strain.

Run high for die. Just kidding. Low pressure is not better on the road. You can roll a tire off the rim in a hard curve and the tire will wear out faster. But to much air will wear the center out faster. Find a happy, middle of the road PSI with some testing. Also depends if you got a 30 pack in the back with ice or two 30 packs. You may need more in the rear. Aleast, that's what she said. Wonder if anyone will respond? This post is only three years old.

That's why I swapped out the factory cushions for the adjustable Fox QS3's! 🤣
