Shipping on these is ridiculous. But if you're near middle tn I'd hook you up

Hoping to hit a lull in tube door business soon so maybe i can make up another set. Every time somebody post pics of their doors on FB i get slammed with orders. Not complaining though!

Sounds good man. I just talked to my buddy and he would like a set too depending on price so may help for two sets. Either way just keep me in mind if you decide to. Thanks

I like this idea Universal Tube Reinforcement (Single) but why couldn't you just slide a pipe inside the step bar? I measured the ID of the stock Honda pipe and get about 1.650. Take a piece of 1.625 OD pipe with .120 wall and, in my case force it in. I assume the pipe is hollow all the way through, right? I wouldn't think it would rattle since mine have a few dings so it would be a tight fit. Or maybe drill some random holes in the pipe then spray insulation inside. Anyone ever try this?

If you ever bend or dent the tube in tube you're stuck with it. The tube gusset is replaceable.

Todd, I see your point but if I bend 1/8" wall pipe I'd just replace the whole thing. The stock pipe looked to be about a MM. It's thin.

It’s a pain in the ass to replace the stock tubes... just run the 2”x2”x1/4” angle iron under them from the get go and you’ll be fine. Otherwise, it’s a ducking pain in the ass and they’re not cheap.

I just made these, might drop the flat washers if I can find a shallower countersunk skid plate washer. Used stainless nutserts in the tubing to bolt them to, 150$ invested.

Those look great. Very similar to mine. I would ditch the flat washers and just use the Honda washers. They snug up pretty flush if you drill the holes to 3/4"

Thanks, it turned out well and was a quite easy project. Very seldom does something actually turn out the way I initially invisiond it.

I ended up doing pipe inside the pipe instead of the welded on tube re-enforcement. The pipe is .125" wall and fits tight inside the Honda tube. Honda ID is 1.65" an the add in pipe is 1.635" OD. Now I have 3/16" of threads for my skid plate bolts. Much stouter than stock and if I bend them some way or another there are probably bigger things to worry about.

That’s a great solution if you have perfect tubes to start with. But most of us are doing this after several dents, dings and bends!

JTW...make no mistake, mine weren't cherry's by any means. They were both bent and had several good size dents. I beat the pipe through and it straightened them and shoved out the dents. I'm confident with it.
