P500 Trickle charger amp recommended?

For my P520 anyone know what the recommended trickle charger amperage should be?
Any recommendation to how run permanent charger wires off posts snd out battery box?

Anything with the Deltran "Battery Tender" name is excellent. Can be purchased from many retailers including Walmart.

I have six or seven of them of varying sizes and power ratings. i use them on everything with a battery.

Several guys have wired up remote "ports" (for lack of a better term) on the dash or similar that their trickle chargers plug into.

This one arrived at my house yesterday. I layed it in the sun and measured 20 volts. I hope that's not gonna mess up a batery.

Been using Harbor Freight wall wart style chargers for years without issue. 12v Deluxe Battery Maintainer and Float Charger

Cheap so-called battery chargers and trickle chargers from ChiComm sources like Harbor Freight are a dime a dozen. They all fail quickly but will overcharge and boil a good battery quickly.

The Deltran brand use a mini-compuer to carefully monitor battery charge rate and battery voltage. They use a four stage charge process to maintain a battery fully charged but not overcharged. They can be left connected to a battery for months at a time without harm.

The answer depends on whether it's a switched or always hot socket. it's probably always hot.

I have had a Battery Tender plus for about 8 years now, that has been in constant use, rotating it around on my P5 and 3 ATVs. Still going strong. I would buy another one, if it croaked tomorrow. The Battery Tender plus is 1.25 amps. All of my batteries are at least 5 years (or more) old.

So is the one on a Talon.

The 12v power port under the dash is only on when the switch is on.

On my truckle charger, the wires that connect to the battery terminals cone to a connector with a waterproof snap on cover. Thats where the leads from the charger connect- next to the battery box.

I left my P500 with no trickle chsrge in an unheated garage all Montana winter and it started every time.
