P500 tubes next to seats, why the difference ?

So in looking at various pictures of pioneer 500's I see two different side tube configurations, the tubes next to the seats attached to the rear roll bar. One is higher giving more coverage and one is lower allowing easier entry/exit.

I'm just really curious about the difference and wondering what other things may be different.

It's a safety thing that was changed in 2017 (i think). The 700 also had changes and the 4 seater now has "torso bars" on the rear. Better at keeping you in the machine when it goes sky-ground or maybe spinal/neck injuries. Don't know the motivation behind it...

The 'torso bars' and the seat belt speed thing are related to regulations, or so I heard.

Yeah I just keep seeing pictures of P5's and seen the difference and wondered if there were different P5 models or just really really lazy people using older stock photo's.

I like the higher bar and I am thinking of making a pocketed canvas filler panel for them.

Our 2017, I like the style of the older lower tubes but I except the need for the higher tubes.

The pictures I keep seeing are from people selling p500 items even Honda has some older pictures in the 2018 pioneer 500 ad which made me wonder if they had different model options.

Mine would look good with custom red canvas pocketed filler panels inside that tube area.
