I am looking for UHMW Rock Sliders for a 2020 Talon 1000X-4 Fox Live. About all I can find is the following:

UTV Direct - Rock Sliders

Anyone have any experience or opinion on these? Concerns are:

1. They come in 3/8" and 1/2". Any idea why I wouldn't want 1/2"?

2. I am concerned about being able to install them over the top of the stock skid plate. Any thoughts there?

This group is great. Any options and/or opinions are welcome and appreciated.

1. If you ride in places like Utah (where you live) I'd suggest 1/2"

2. Why do you still even have the factory skid on?......that thing is junk, my opinion, just get a set of real skid plates and most will include the rock sliders/side protection.

My 2 cents...

I know this link is for a 2 seater,
But start a conversation with @highpocket74 , I believe he has a 4 seat version in the works.
It should offer similar protection, with the addition of a step for ingress/exit.

JenElio is right, you're going to need a full 1/2" skid anyway, just get one with sliders built in like Trail Armor -

I've got a new design made completely out of sheet metal that I'll be assembling soon for my X2. Once that gets checked out then I'll modify for an X4. Going all sheet metal will allow me to use my local shop with low minimum orders and much faster turnaround than the tube guys from another state. Plus it's different and looks cool! Again, the step is my main goal here!

Very nice! At the top edge, is the skid flush with the frame tube?
That's my issue with the Honda side skids, a very wavy edge at the top...doesn't look good.

I have the Factory UTV skidplate with the rock sliders. Very happy with them, provide good coverage and protection

I'm trying to figure how to cut my Honda side skids for the tubing on Highpockets steps.
I have to admit on 30" tires stepping up over the door frame is interesting.
