P1000 Under seat storage

Didnt want to pay for hondas under seat storage so took a five galon menards bucket and modified it some and will see how it works.

The bucket had to be modified some to fit. After removing seat and side panel I measured about an inch up from bottom of bucket and cut bottom off. Then took bottom of bucket and put inside bucket like you are stacking buckets. Put a bead of silicone around inside of bottom of bucket so it would be sealed. Cut a notch out on top of bucket to clear rectifier and small piece so it would clear square tube were
Seat sits on make sure bucket is positioned so that side panel will fit back on before drilling two holes in bottom of bucket with a piece of rubber under a fender washer be sure to check under machine as to not drill into frame tube that runs under it.

would you recommend using a 3 1/2 gallon bucket since its shorter i plan to put a 10" sub in one under my seat

I would think a 31/2 gallon would not have to be cut to fit so could be better than the 5 gallon I used.
