I am considering buying a toy hauler to take our 1000-5. With the full roll cage I was wondering what others use.

Not sure this is helpful but… I have a work & Play 25WAB. Works great for the Harley, have not tried to get the 1000-5 in there yet but its going to be tight. I would recommend finding something with no side obstructions. Mine has the stove/sink running down one side of the “garage” which makes it tight for a 64” machine.

2011 21SW desert fox. Had to remove one of the bunks for height clearance. Also have to crawl out the back as I can't open the doors.

Finally got a chance to see if the 1000-5 fits in the Work&play 25wab. I guess technically it does….

Before we dive that deep into TH’s again…
Welcome from Michigan.

Pics Or It Didnt Happen! ;)

Im assuming you being somewhat new you dont know about the search up top.
there is a really long thread on what type length, how big the $hitter is and so forth of TH’s and a few others. Id suggest to try that first. Either way min of a 10-1/2‘ garage For a base P1

I used to have a Wolfpack 325pack 40’….got tired of having to always jack around with the beds and crap…plus unloading at night in the heat and bugs.

sold it this spring and went back to pulling doubles again. I have a 32’ Grand design with factory hitch. Now I can bring my boat and not be over length/weight, or just my ATVs. No bugs and crap to clean out, gas smells etc.

I know TH are liked here, but I’ll never own one again.

I hate to rain on your parade, but going down the road your SxS suspension is going to flex. The machine is going to rock and bounce a bit no matter how tight you think it’s tied down. It’s going to rub on the interior of the toy hauler where you have little clearance and cause damage that will make you sad.

100% agree, I have a little work to do before I try to travel this way. 3 main concerns are the stove knobs (will likely cut the counter and recess the stove back at least an inch), the couch (Already removed a window treatment to get more clearance), and the overhead cabinet rubbing the roof. I have about 12" I could move the entire cabinet fwd for plenty of room. Just will involving moving some wiring also and it wont be centered over the window/couch.

Piece of s*** here. Machines barely fit in, and have to take rear drop down bed apart each time to load. But did want smaller one to get into the woods with and light so our Toyota could pull in a pinch, options are limited and expensive for that job. Always measure and keep in mind you need to be able to get out of the machine so best if no cabinets or fold down beds in garage and campers that are 8-6” are easier

@CP what TH is it?
If you have one a) it was a good value b) unless it is the 1st trip out it has got to be tough as nails.

Bought for under half what is worth so great value but yes first few times rough, getting easier.
It’s a ‘09 20ft FunFinder Xtra. It’s a regular roof though at 6’4” so even though things fit we have to remove the rear electric bed each trip.
If someone didn’t need that rear bed it works perfect for any of our machines. Even same camper that was longer and had front bed would work excellent. We needed shorter to get in where we go. We will be looking for same length with tall roof before long but much harder to find. Really wanted the ATC camper they are by far the best but damn expensive and our last deal on one fell through so I’m over that unless one pops up damaged close by
