Well, the 54 inch raptor blades stopped spinning intermittently. Looking to buy mid-pro to commercial. 5 acres with bumps so looking for good seating. Was at new huge Kubota store in Chattanooga Saturday getting parts for tractor and saw their line. Looking at $5-8k price range with higher rated transmission.

We mow more than an Acre every week from end of March till November. Z-425 from Home Depot, stamped steel deck, 54 inch cut, over 11 years old, maintenance, belts, blades and 2 batteries. A lot less than 5-8,000.00. Briggs and Stratton.

I have the SD model but it sounds like a simple fix that couldn't be more than a louse belt or bearing or tension spring. Also the SD is the Mid Pro.

I keep 4 acres of grass mowed 2 times per week using a Dixie Chopper Silver Eagle 27hp 60 inch cut! I am on the ninth season and 590 hours on the clock, never had any problems, breakdowns kept serviced it has been as reliable as a Honda.

If you want a Kubota let me know the model number and price. I might can get you a deal as my 1st cousin owns a Kubota/Honda/Stihl dealership in east Texas.

Gonna be in the market next spring for a new one...my 3 y o cub has been a good mower. But a 48in deck just takes to long on 5+ acres.

See alot of Toro commercial line on company trailers. Going to look at Gravely, Toro Titan today. Tried Kubota but control arms were pretty stiff. Been looking at 3100 and 3400 transmissions. Toro my ride with full shock suspension seating interesting but only comes with Toro brand engine. Prefer Kawasaki.

If you have a tractor consider a large finish mower, they do a good job.We have a 5 foot finish mower that I pull around with my tractor and a 4 foot Zero for trimming.

I have a 55 horse tractor...but i have several trees in the area i mow....i considered a 6 ft finish..bit would rather just use one machine......
I also just came across a year old Dixie Chopper 60 in for what sounds to be a very reasonable price...going to look this weekend

Well, had a Toro 3000 Z master commercial, myride, 52 inch delivered today. Was shopping for a 2000 or 2500, but dealer quoted a such good price. Just 4 acres residential so hope this will last a while. Like the full floating seat/floor w/shocks front and rear. Heavy duty 7 gauge deck and a nice two stage air filter like my Kubota tractor. Similar to the Pioneer, it will never be as clean as this again!

Excellent choice! My 1st Toro was a 3000 from day one the controls felt broke in and smooth as silk and they haven't changed a bit. From the 1st week I had it I could tell it was a quality mower that hung a bank like it was on rails. Only people that say a zero turn wont stick a bank are ones who cant drive em. Dixie chopper had a floating deck like none other you couldnt get it to dig in and scalp anywhere and the fastest blade speed I've seen if you were over top of gravels it would pick them up to throw em out kinda dangerous but I Traded one Dixie chopper for it in March and went back in may to trady the other chopper for a 6000. Toro is twice the mower chopper is. 3 years later and 1200 hours on each mower with excellent service! P.S. if you're worried about getting it dirty I can trade you one that's already been dirtied :D:D I've heard great things about the myride! People have told me they are too smooth! Bc they will be mowing too fast for the terrain, look down and the deck is digging up turf lol enjoy and let us know how you like it

Good to hear, figured the 3000 was stout enough, and the my-ride smooth enough as my retirement mower. It just looked more beefy than the 2000 and 2500 models, and got it for less at a Mom and Pop country dealer than the 2500 model quote at a bigger dealer. 1 hr. drive was worth it. @VaHillbilly , Which gas do you run?

Was surprised at the price range for those high end commercial mowers, similar to a SxS.

That's great you got a deal! Your right it is much beefier than the smaller mowers. Makes it hard to settle on one of those if you dont have to. Yea mowers are like everything else. Price goin up up up. I use normal gas with ethanol only bc I go through so much. I buy non ethanol for my small engine stuff though. What engine did you get? Is it fuel injected?

This has the Kohler Command Pro 747cc engine. Was looking for a Kawasaki, but was Ok as the Kholer engine in my Raptor has been good. Wish this had the auto choke like the Raptor. The hydro pumps are listed at 12cc and guessing it is similar to a ZT 3400 rating. $8k out the door with delivery, so good or bad, its here to stay.

Sounds pretty good to me! I would imagine you will have good service out of the engine and whole mower! Its nice how the pump and wheel motor are made together as one unit so there are no hoses to leak. And it takes less hp to run them!
