My first car: 1974 Mercury Cougar. 42 running board lights, 5 clearance lights, semi wind fin, dual 6’ CB antennae’s, PA system, 2-10” subwoofers, 1-12” subwoofer, 4-6x9 speakers, 6-tweeters, 3000watt amp, 3-2farad cells, custom build alternator, dual batteries. Custom by me, lol. She stood out in the parking lots... once drove 25miles with headlights off because the other lights were so bright lol. Good times. She had a tragic end.. jumping dikes until she was U shaped.. still ran! Then my buddy’s brother ran it over with the Steiger.. thee end.

Still have it, still use it. Although it’s been on light duty the last couple years. Lol. Good solid workhorse. Before all the emissions s*** hit agriculture.

It was loud, lots of bass, but clear and crisp! Loved the sound of the setup.
I always liked the bass of a 10 and sound of a good 6x9 was going to go with 6x9 in the Honda but ended up with 4 4" two ways and one 10" couldn't find any shallow mount 6x9s I wanted

Had 4 of them in my 700 but they weighed way too much up high.

Like many of you, I'm a car nut. Considering I work in the business, that can be a bad thing.. I've made plenty of on the spot purchases on cars we've taken in trade, simply cause I "had to have" them.
Like the '77 911S with 22K one owner miles on it, the custom '89 C10 shortbox, the total count is somewhere north of 40 cars since I was 16. That # would jump drastically if you included motorcyles haha!

But if we're talking about the most unique vehicle? This one would most definitely be it.

My dad bought it for me when I was 7, which means here in a month or so, I'll have owned it 50 years. I keep saying I'm gonna start on it, but the cost to just get the ball rolling is pretty large..

It's a 1947 Crosley roundside pickup. The roundside makes it pretty rare, not all that valuable, but rare for sure.
The idea is to turn it into a mini pro-touring pickup. LS power etc..
The second pic is a rendering a buddy of mine did.. it pretty much captures what I'd like to turn it into.

Oh... and for scale, the wheelbase is 80" (yes, 80 inches) the width is 47" at the door skins.
It's small.

That would just about sit on a Pioneer 1000 frame lol

I thought the Chevy Luv was a Datsun?
The Chevrolet LUV and the later Chevrolet LUV D-Max are light pickup trucks designed and manufactured by Isuzu and marketed in the Americas since 1972 by Chevroletover four generations as rebadged variants of the Isuzu Faster and D-Max.

Mine was fancy, had the wood grain wraps on the sides. Took the seat covers off and used towels to form semi bucket seats. You couldn't blow the motor, I tried! You could run 80 MPH down the Hiway. It would run 100 MPH.

Reminds me of a trip back from Kansas back in early 1976 in my GTO, decided to open her up, and held her wide open for miles and miles, when we came to the first small town, started letting off the gas and she would stumble so I just gas'ed the hell out of it Back to Arkansas. Pulled the Qudra Jet carb and found the primary and secondary needles bent double, didn't know they do that. Think it happened when I started to shut her down. Fast trip back to Arkansas though! I should write a book, the Adventures of Smitty, this the tip of the ice burg!
