I am curious what type of tablet everybody is using to use for trail maps. In regards to the tablet, do you have to have a tablet that has to be connected to a phone carrier (Verizon, AT&T, etc). I feel like I have ran across some people that mentioned tablets with Wifi alone do not have the GPS chip embedded which won't allow them to use GPS because they aren't connected on Wifi on the trails. Also what trail map system are you using?

As sharp has said I also have a Tab A. It only has WiFi so I have to download any maps before I get to the trails. Lifetime Trail maps look to be a good system of preloaded trails depending on where you ride. Check out their list on their page and see if it could work for you. Lifetime says that the Samsung tablets have the better GPS chip in them and that’s the only tablets that their system works on.
