WTF Honda... A RAZR tire?

So Honda has been working with MAXXIS on racing tires for both the Ridgeline and Talons for desert racing along with KMC wheels. Makes sense as Maxxis makes the OEM tires for the Pioneers, etc.

So with all the resources and marketing intellect some genius comes up to name tire tire models RAZR. Like the competition RZR? 🤷‍♂️ Jesus Pete, talk about a branding failure. 😬 Guess no one gets paid enough to think about a tire on a Talon could be called Eagle Claw or some other catchy tie in. Hell while they are at it, just have the KMC wheels for the Talons named KRX 🤮

Maxxis had razr tire lines way before Honda or Polaris for that matter made a SxS at all.

In pics or it didn’t happen ... I found discussion back in 2008 comparing the original razr to the razr 2 tires.

The first PoPo RZR was a 2008 model year.

I am not finding the official release date for the original razr tire or the razr 2’s. I was thinking that my buddy was running them when I got my 2003 400EX though. I did find another forum post that makes that look feasible. At the least it dates the tires to 2005....

Yep, I shook my head when I saw their tire choice, but what I really shook my head at was them not choosing to run 4 equal size tires and rims.

Maybe the fact some non-factory sponsored team whipped their butts.
Problems are irrelevant... always the driver's fault.

Haha a 40” tire on a Honda Ridgeline, so pretty much to do this all they did was keep the ridgeline body and put it on a new chassis, suspension etc?

It's as much a "Ridgeline" as a NASCAR "Camry" is a Camry. I.E. it has some Honda stickers and it says Ridgeline.

Polvorde got a ford ride, Probably why he isn't back. Not sure on Watson.

Pellegrino and Cole have been racing KOH for years. Two very good choices in my opinion.

I thought it was a pretty sorry showing as well.

Not only did your factory turbo car get beat by a N/A ride but so did every other utv there.

RaceCo knows their s*** for sure.
