Glad I have a 2016. Not interested in most of that stuff. Except the shocks and the memory for the selector but even that's not a huge deal.

I am really surprised they didn't change to a throttle by wire and add in a "work mode" or similar so that the throttle isn't so jumpy and you can ease it better and not ram things at slow speeds.

But maybe that is is something on the "updated DCT"?

That is one of the things that I thought was a great and handy idea on the Defender and also now the Ranger. Much easier than either trying to "coast" it in or jerk/brake/jerk/brake/jerk/BANG  that we have today.

By the way, does anyone know if the 2017 P1000 models have the seatbelt 15MPH lockout that the P500 and P700 have?

I assume so but was just wondering.

$15,791 and I got them to throw in a hard roof.. I bought a Silver deluxe 1000-5.. I actually traded my 2017 p500 back in on it. They basically allowed me roughly $9500 on my bike.

I was a little on the hook due to the trade value they offered.. another dealer offer $5,500!!!! Yeah, F that!
I've seen some ads $1000-1500 less, but most have hidden fees or "that bikes no longer available" it seems the going price is 15,500 ish

Thanks.. yeah, it's a step waaaay up but I still loved that little p5! I just don't think the p5 is as great a deal after you go and add all you want and need to do. If you leave it stock.. great! But it will quickly suck some money and not give you what you get with a 1000 deluxe!

It is nice to stay with a local dealer that you'd be bringing to rig into if not drastically more money when you bring it in. because they tend to treat you better
I am really happy for you you guys are going to have a great time.

If you ride your own land a just hunt and land maintenance the 500 probably can't be beat. But for quality of the ride. and fit and finish it's world ahead of the 700. so 2 world's on the 500 but you pay for it. I'm trying not to offend the 500 guys!

Lol.. it's great for what it is. But I think Honda probably makes more money off the stripped down bare bones 500 than they do a 700 or 1000. I just don't think it's quite worth what all you have to do it and the money you spend on it compared to the 1000.. they're fun little machines but with all the stuff I added to it..(I took a lot of it off) I was 12k plus... and it still rode like an old woman with bad hips! So add shocks to get it smoothed out and you still don't have a differential lock. That's why I traded it while I could, took a small loss and upgraded for a bigger, faster, "better" machine for relatively what would have been the same money.
