How far is it from Royal Blue Resort to Brushy Mountain Penitentiary, miles and hours? What is the difficulty of the trails?
Difficulty depends upon route you take. The way I take people is very easy there and a few moderate trails with overlooks coming back. Round trip from Exit 141 at Truckstops is 100 miles. Add RRB and would be 120 miles round trip. About 10 hours total that includes:

Depart Pilot at Exit 141 9AM travel 39 miles to Brushy Mountain arrival time 11:00 am ish.

Spend 11am-2pm at Brushy for lunch , self tour, gift shop, distillery, etc.

Depart Brushy 2PM take easy scenic route back approximately 60 miles, arrive back at Pilot around 7PM. That includes multiple stops for photos, bathroom breaks, etc.

I have kept that schedule with up to 26 machines in the group. Smaller groups take less time to get the wagon train moving. I guided over 20 groups last year alone using that route, no issues with anyone.

The reason I say depart from Pilot is everyone can top off fuel, ice, etc. Group less likely to get divided by vehicles traffic getting off I75 at exit 141.

The time I went with Jackal it got easier the further we went. Before long it got so easy it took 2hrs to go 3/4 of a mile. I had the time of my life and would do it again in a heartbeat. It was great.
I don't go that route any longer, can't count on people to not run street tires in a potentially muddy ride (all depends upon the rain)

We would like to make the trip this year from RRB. We have a P700 and a P1000, anyone have a trip planned?

Friday sounds good to me
We've rode there, ate lunch and headed back, no time for the Prison tour, unless you can get a group up to leave early like 7:00 AM you won't have time for the tour. We drove over there last year and took our time touring the prison, very eye opening, got back in time for a late afternoon ride.

You always have that one dumb a$$ running street tires! (Not pointing finger) I watched a 500 climb a hill he couldn’t climb. I do believe he has proper tires on his rig now. Some people!

I remember that well. You were pretty annoyed for a while but you really shined on the paved road.

I was wondering if there was time for the tour. My wife has been wanting to tour the jail. I probably need to wait on coming up for a dedicated tour another time.

Pretty sure it's on trail 14. Not far from where it runs into trail 8. Theirs a wide spot in the trail to park and you have to walk down into it. Been by it a bunch but only walked down to it 3 times. Last time was a couple years ago with @TripleB and @JenElio .
