At 4,000 miles the rear suspension ground clearance dropped to 8 inches. I replaced the stock 6 inch tender springs with Eibach 12 inch springs. I have 12 ¾ inches ground clearance now and will probably add a little more preload after around 500 miles of spring break in. The front ground clearance was 12 inches. I added another inch of preload and have 13 inches of ground clearance now.
I still have to set the cross over rings to prevent spring coil bind. The stock 6-inch springs had the cross over rings set ok from the factory. I was at cross over after the tender springs lost tension at 4,000 miles. It was ok for truck trail, but it sucked for desert riding. With the 12-inch tender springs I can set the cross over before coil bind or way before coil bind depending on what I need for low-speed wash board riding. My tires are nearly worn out so I will replace them with 30's for the desert riding this winter.
