P500 2nd Battery

I am in the planning stage of the build for my 2025 520 that will be delivered next month. One of the items I will be adding is a second battery. I have been in a low voltage industry for 40 years, so wiring is not an issue. I want to mount my 2nd battery under the hood. I am looking for suggestions on mounting locations and methods under the hood. I have searched the 520 forum for Dual Battery and spent the last hour going through all the posts, but haven't found anything usefull. Can some of you post pictures of your under hood 2nd batteries?

2nd battery with isolator, fuse box and relay. Also have a switch so I can use accessories without having the key on.

Thanks for posting the pictures, but with the closeup view of the battery, I can't tell where you mounted it. How did you secure the battery in place?

It's not under the hood, but I mounted mine in a custom tray under the driver's seat and it's worked out great. It's a rather large battery and frees up quite a bit of space under the hood. which is in short supply as it is.

Thanks for posting the pictures, but with the closeup view of the battery, I can't tell where you mounted it. How did you secure the battery in place?

My buddy and I made a bracket out of 1/4” X 2” steel. It is on the passenger side under the hood.

I decided to install my second battery under the driver's seat.

I got rid of the stock battery and added a 4 gauge 48" cable to the positive end and replaced the entire ground cable with 4 gauge 48" long cable. Now I have a 700 cca agm battery mounted under the driver seat- similiar to above. It works great, the vehicle runs better and I wont be replacing batteries near as often- and I can jump another vehicle or get jumped easily. Also would be easy to mount a 120 volt inverter right in front of the battery if desired.
