@JNo323, I'm betting the front end geometry is the same for both R2 and R4. It would make total sense from a manufacturers point of view. So thanks for that piece of intel.
Our riding style here in Northern Utah is low and slow with a premium placed on ground clearance. We're not mud boggers or sand blasters. We prefer to mosey along the rocky 4x4 trails that dot the Wasatch back and smell the roses. It's funny, back when we crawled with our modified 98 TJ in Colorado, I always felt that our low and slow crawling was actually easier on the rig than normal driving. We never had to thrash on this rig to get her to clear an obstacle. Just 4 low, 488's, ARB lockers, hand throttle and up she went. That is a driving style I want to emulate with this buggy.
@CID, your comment about altitude gave me some pause. Some of the trails around here do get above 10K' but nothing like our prior home state of Colorado. We have already been up above 10K' a number of times with the stock 28's and have never felt the impact of altitude other than my earlier post of rough idle when restarting (which the forum helped me resolve BTW). I'm not expecting a paralyzing power falloff running 32's but the proof will be in the pudding. Like it's been stated many times before, you're only dating your tires, not marrying them.
