Wondering if any of you folks have experimented with different shock springs?
My 700-4D bottomed out bad when I run the full hard cab. So I swapped the stock 700 shocks with 1000-P5 front shocks at all 4 corners. It handled much better, gave a better ride at medium speeds, but is too stiff at slow speeds.
My 700 has a hard short front roof, hard rear window , and a fabric rear roof. In the winter I install the factory glass windshield with wiper and hard doors.
As far as accessories, a winch, second battery, couple of snatch blocks, chain saw, and a 2 gal gas can are always on board.
When I throw my hunting gear in, it might add another 40 lbs. Typically I ride alone.
The pics of the 1000-P5 springs were taken as the buggy sat on the trailer. Looks like I’ve about maxed out the 1st stage of the progressive rate springs. This leads me to believe, when I hit a bump, I’m immediately on the 350# portion of the spring.
Thoughts or comments are welcomed. What have you folks tried ?
