Got the rear L&W radius rods on. The JSport SXS double shear brackets do NOT work with the L&W radius rods. You have to grind the s*** out of them to make the uppers work and the lowers will only fit if you grind off half of the thing. Wouldn't recommend them if you plan to run L&W rods.

This is a lower and I had ground half of it off. It hits the rod end and binds the suspension.

I took this much off and it still bound up. At that point there is no reason to even use it:

You might have antifa coming to your neighborhood soon. What's with the random bricks piled around the electrical box in the background? 😯 :flipoff2:

Bonus "that guy" points if you use it as a flex test ramp when you are done with the build. Hahaha
Lol, I think the neighbor's yard guy did that. There were blocks all around the thing but he hit it with his riding mower one day and destroyed a bunch of them. He stacked the "good ones" on my side?? I had forgot all about them until you pointed it out.

@Lil_Steve ran into similar problems and might remember which double shears he used with his L&Ws. He told me but I lost the memo. 😊

🤣

I think these are the only one's that will work properly (without modification) with the L&W radius arms.

Also built out a first aid kit using one of the Milwaukee slim full-size Packout boxes. Milwaukee sells a pre-built First Aid Kit for $129, but I'm at about $75 and have a more robust kit. It'll live in my truck when I'm not riding.

might watch the top boxes after being in the sun a little bit as they have been known to magnify the sun which can do damage to the contents..

Good to know. First aid kit lives behind my backseat so no worries there. I'll make sure I put it on the bottom when we do an overland.

Not sure if I got a bad batch or if L&W powder coat is always crap? The $4/can paint I sprayed them with holds up better than the powder coat... My ratchet handle tapped the arm as I was tightening up the frame bolts and a big chunk chipped off. There was a big chunk chipped off one of my radius rods when I pulled it out of the box too. Don't think I'd pay the extra cash for the color matched pieces if I ordered again. The arms are beefy and the bushings look to be high quality, so hopefully they hold up well. Went on super easy, probably 10 minutes per side after pressing the bushings in. My go to Rustoleum did the trick since I couldn't find anybody local to powdercoat in any sort of reasonable timeframe.

Just pulled my L&W rear radius rods off tonight. Plenty of play in them at 1600 miles. $50 for all 8 uniballs so they must not be high quality to start with.

That sucks, but I'd read that before about the uniballs. $50 is cheaper than the damn a-arm bushings on the Pioneer that are shot in 500 miles.

I didn't know anyone was worse at designing suspension bushings than Polaris. 🤣

I think he is referring to the $50 as cheap, meaning low quality parts. 8 uniballs for $50 reeks of inferior Chinese parts. I have heim joints in my rear suspension that cost over $50 each, but are American made and are still tight after an entire season of racing.

Yeah I knew what he was getting at, lol.

If the rods and mounting bolts aren't destroyed at 1600 miles, I'll put another set of $50 Chinesium uni's back in and call it a day. If the L&W turn out to be s*** I'll probably switch to the RaceCo's. I would have gone with them to begin with if they had a high clearance option.
