Finally got tired of pulling out the wired winch controller when using the winch and just bought the pre-wired in-dash setup from @Hondasxs . I installed it on my Mystic switch panel and everything fit like a glove. It hooked right up to my Badlands 5k contactor and I spliced it into my 12v acc wire so it only gets power when the key is on. I'm on par with a 3rd grader when it comes to wiring and this pre-wired unit made it so much easier! If you've got the Badlands winch, there are 3 prongs on the contactor for In/Ground/Out. Don't hook up to the middle black wire (ground) like I did or you will let the magic smoke out and melt your wires when you hit the winch switch. The spades should go on the two outer prongs when installing on the contactor.

Going to try and clean up all my wiring before TO in 2020. Ordered a Blue Sea fuse box and hope to take my time and get everything cleaned up. It looks like a bomb right now and I've only got a few accessories run, so I need to get a handle on it before I add the pod lights and some other stuff. I also ordered a 200 amp breaker to install as a kill switch for my winch under the hood now that I've got the rocker in the dash.

200 amp Breaker

I'll get some before and after pictures when I get around to doing the install.

I wouldn't recommend wiring your winch thru the 200amp fuse block. You will mostly likely pop the fuse in a big pull.

Thanks

I was basing it off this table supplied with the winch:

I'm rarely if ever on the first layer and try to use a snatch block when I can, so I figured I'd start with the 200A breaker. If I find it tripping too often I'll move up to a 300A.

Next up was the rear in-door storage mod. Honda should definitely have utilized this space from the factory. There's a ton of space in these doors! I unscrewed the rear panel and used my Dremel to cut out a hole.

I initially kept all of my recovery gear in the door, but soon realized that if you tip over onto that side you no longer have access to anything in the door. I toss a tow strap in the bed now before I head out just in case.

I drilled some more holes in the bottom of the door to aid in getting rid of water/mud after I tipped it over in the mudhole and it damn near filled it to the top with soupy mud. I also learned that I should put my stuff in dry bags.

I used these push-to-release hood pins to secure the panel. The threaded rod screws into the existing inserts in the door. You have to either cut the rods to length or drill out the plastic on the back of the insert in order to screw the rods in far enough.

May I ask, which part number of quick release pins did you use for the rear door storage mod? I have the hole cut out, but need to order the push pins. They are not cheap, and I want to order the correct ones the first time.

I'll have to check my email and see, but I got them from Tansky. If you search here for "Tansky" you should be able to find them. I want to say they were listed in @joeymt33 build thread.

I found the order info in my email:

I'm going to have to figure out a new place to mount the light bar now too.

I bought a cheap one from the local atv store but never even tried it. It didn't fit well and would have scratched the hell out of it. Going to take them off the machine this weekend and have @joeymt33 give me a hand adding some preload using a hitch vise.

Got the windshield installed. This is a nice unit. I wasn't expecting it to be as sturdy as it is. The Mrs. and my little one will definitely appreciate it tomorrow when we go trick or treating!

Survived Stony Lonesome and hanging out with Joey and crew. Pretty sure everything is still mechanically sound, but she's got some new battle scars for sure! I'll know the full extent after she gets a bath this weekend. I foresee 30's in the near future too...
