Really glad I had the semi-foresight to drill holes in the plate instead of my dash. Still ticked me off that once I got it installed and wired that it was such poor quality that my iPhone was louder without it being plugged in! Yes double checked every wire and adjustment at least 10 times. Upside already been refunded by Amazon so I am going to take some spare MDF and fiberglass resin and make a roof mount with speakers similar to the NortherTool REI radio. But install the cheapest, name brand, head unit with Bluetooth I can find.

You can see my wiring harness I have already run for the radio, led bar, and wiper (assuming 3 power wires/1ground for wiper motor, if less ill have a spare power wire up top)

IronMoney welcome!

I personally am leaning toward the single roof mount console. After the debacle of the "Pyle O' junk" think I'd rather have something that all the wiring is hidden in the console, except for power.

There was someone in this thread that was using that and it looked slick.

Gents,

My wife picked up the 2 from my installer yesterday. The source unit is waterproof, the speakers are baffled and protected under the dash. Electric antenna tucked underneath as well. Ipod cable is located in the glovebox. Pics are a little blurry, box installed has been painted black after mock up. All Memphis components, can't wait to hear it! Will post better pics when I actually get to see it in person-

Another, somewhat spendy option, but nice. A couple of my friends have these on their commanders. They just started offering different radios now (some with bluetooth), and they sale just the console with speakers and the antenna so you can drop your own head unit in. This is probably the route I will go. I will probably opt for the one with the dome light, just to kill two birds with one stone. They have a mounting kit for the pioneer now too, so if you don't a hard roof, or don't want to drill your roof, you can use it. I think it is nothing more than a couple of rails to mount it to that then mount to the ROPS.

"Dual" brand marine radio w/2 speakers on clearance from Academy $36
Scrap Plywood box $0
Old Antenna $0
One can of truck-bed liner $14

Way cheaper than any other alternative I have come up with.

Sounds pretty good too!

Just need to coat and mount to roof.

I'm 6'2" and there's plenty of headroom.

Finished it this afternoon. I cut it last night while being distracted by trick or treaters and I did not take the care I normally would have.
Could have easily made it a lot thinner and cleanercleaner if I had taken a bit more time, but not in the mood to redo it. Not the prettiest or sleekest but it sounds good enough, works and was less than $50 total. (The tooth rot we handed out last night cost more)

8"x4.25"x24"

Update: Volume doesn't exactly blow you away at 30mph but I've got an open cab, maybe once my enclosure bits come in it will be louder at speed. I can hear it fine up to about 20. Not the surround system I have in my TL, but I can hear the game.

I think I am just going with this for now. Maybe mount speakers in or under dash somehow. Anaqu4u7
