I don't imagine I'll ever be as good as the $700 Futaba. If there are must have features though I'll do it. I definitely don't mind spending the money for the 4 series. Are there appreciable differences between the 3 series and 4 series that I should care about? What features should I care about to begin with? lol
I forgot they even sold 3 series radios any more. The 3PV looks like a solid beginner radio. Primary difference is going to be the amount of models you can store; 10 vs 40 on the 4P. 3 series only allows 4 character model names versus 10 on the 4. Bigger backlit screen on the 4 series, more buttons/switches/dials you can assign Rx channels to on the 4.

Picked one of these up yesterday at Hobbytown for my 6 year old grandson. Now maybe I can get my Traxxas Hoss back....

I smoked my 55T motor in the Night Crawler, so I went back to the stock 35T motor. I think the 2.2 tires are killing motors, probably put stock tires back on for the TO Jamboree?

Need to change your gearing more than likely if you haven't yet for the torquier motor and larger tires.

The Night Crawler is an entry level RTR crawler and needs full electronics up grades if you want to run this platform with anything but stock anything, in my opinion. But I know very little about RC.

Chucked a front driveshaft and 2 more of those GPM shocks had the ends break off. Both on left rear, lost the spring and hanger. That killed it for the day. I’m sending them back - thanks Amazon Prime- and rebuilding the stock ones.

You can get bigger/smaller pinion gears for cheap. I'm sure they have different spur gears for that thing too. You're overheating it because it was geared for small tires and a 35T motor. Gear it down 👍🏻

Where's the DA hat purchased at, I need one and I have a DA question. Is the higher #T motor faster than a lower #T motor? Think I'll go the smaller pinion gear route first and see what happens or should I do both? The 55T is toast.

Finally remembered to go by the hobby shop and pick up some Pinion gears went from 20 to 18 tooth, we'll see if this helps with burning up motors.

Went by Harbor freight looking for a cheap set of RC wrenches just to get me by, found this for under $ 20.00, the bits are

true to size, 28 of them, don't think they would hold up to heavy usage, but this is my favorite of the kit, a flexible extension.

I've got 3 of those kits. One in each RC truck bag and then another under the seat in my Tacoma. Really can't beat them for the price.
