P500 ....and so it begins, Project DONKEY

It didn't take long, a week and 170 miles to be exact and I've started adding/modding the "DONKEY"....aka my P500. This past weekend I added the Honda hard coat windshield, hard roof and back panel. I also added some plastic weld blankent I had around the seatbelts to help with the heat when going through water, a sound noise barrier it on the list. I just ordered a set of 27" Tusk Terrabites on ITP black steel wheels from RMATV and plan to work on a snorkel system this weekend. Dang this is fun!

Yup, I already checked out your post, nice job by the way, I like it! I have the back panel on so I'm thinking I may anchor to the edge of the roof.

I have a back panel for the winter too. I plan on dealing with that problem in November.

Mirror, fairlead plate & sound deadener delivered today, tires & wheels tomorrow......gonna be a busy weekend

Got the new shoes on it, Tusk Terrabites on ITP 12" black steel wheels, 4+3 offset, 27x11 rear, 27x9 front. Took a quick spin, the ride is much improved, little to no tire noise, speedo is within 1mph of GPS. We're going on an all day ride tomorrow so we'll see how they perform on the trails.

I wish I had noticed you ordered the ITP steel wheels. Those are the only wheels I liked but I worried they would be too heavy and went with aluminum. I could have asked you to please weigh one.

They came with the tires mounted, would only be able tell you the weight of tire & wheel, could get that info if you need it.
