Has anyone found a set of interchangeable stock replacement shcoks the the p1000-5 like Green02crew posted for the Commander shock swap on 700's? We noticed a lf shock leakimg fluid on buddy's 1000-5 and would like a better than stock shock but not spend $2000 on a set. Any ideas or suggestions ????

I joined today to make my first post here.

So a buddy of mine had a renli sxs and he upgraded the shocks to the elka's. He had the stock shocks laying around and decided to give them to me. I held them up to my tock shocks and they looked to be the same in a lot of ways, but the one thing I noticed was the eye to eye was a bit longer. This got me thinking... What if I bolted these on to achieve lift?
So after several weeks of scrubbing with 28" mud lites. I'm now running 30x11-14 zillas at all four corners. Stock suspension rear. Added renli shocks up front. The cv's are in no more of a bind than they would be with the highlifter kit.

I can take pictures for anyone who wants to see.

It raises the question could we just call Fox, Walker Evans, Elka, and have them extend the eye to eye to achieve a small lift?

I am currently running the renli stock spring and the rebound sucks. I have been researching options to have the shocks shipped to someone and dual rate springs installed.

What is a renli sxs? I know a guy that revolves and springs shocks but it's not cheap.

It was a renli 1100.

renli 1100 - Google Search

Some sort of Chinese made street legal buggy. [HASHTAG]#junk[/HASHTAG]

The shock I feel is fine, the springs are just stiff. If I could get those replaced with a dual rate set I'd be in the clouds again.

The fox shocks can be adjusted. I bet you can get 3 inches of lift from the fox shock.

When you add more preload on the springs to gain height you're going to lose some ride quality mostly at slow speed or over small bumps.

The spring compresses the easiest at its longest length, so when you add preload you are losing that length of spring to be used as a cushion.

(Unless the fox shocks are adjustable in another way besides adding preload, then just ignore my post ;))

I talked to a Elka tec a few days about spring sag, What he told me was, install shocks and adjust to the factory ride height, then sag (spring preload) is correct. What I forgot to ask was with out normal weight load or with.

Got the scoop from Elka tec support on spring adjustment, kind of like a dirt bike. Put a simulated load you will be caring including you and passengers, set ride height and your set.

Has anyone put on the fox shock from the 16-19 terex? It seems to be about 3/4" taller is all, I can tell.
