Had my SxS about 18 months. The bed has been getting harder to dump. Now it will not move at all. The latches are released, it moves about 1/2 inch. I don't have the rear rollbar on so nothing is blocking it there. Any ideas before I have to be without it for a while and spend too much money at the Honda shop? TIA

The ram thingy is a hydraulically damped gas spring. I've seen them lose gas pressure, which would make for much more effort (weight to lift) to raise the bed, but shouldn't get rusty to lock things up, as the inside piston is working in oil.

Adjust the "arm rests" on the rear doors down, when the rear doors close they push the seats/down down to release a safety latch. I had to do this on the neighbors P1K5

5 seater?
Thr center latch for the seats is probably not releasing. Open the door and push the seats down and try again.
Yes it is a 5 seater. I had already tried putting the seats up and closing them back down, nothing gives. I didn't know there was a center latch, I have only seen the 2 near the cab. I will check it out. Is that center latch accessible?

What do you mean "arm rests"? Perhaps there could be enough debris(wood chips, mud, etc) that is not allowing the safety latch to release??

Yeah, it's right between the rear seats on that divider between them. If they are missing the little rubber sleeves it can be difficult for them to disengage. That latch is the safety mech for when the seats are up the bed doesn't accidentally dump

The arm rest on the rear doors is what pushes the seat's backrest down enough to release the latches. If they are not pushing enough on the latch release they will not work. This is why when you pull the dump lever it only pops up about 1/2"

Good luck 👍

Open your rear doors, there is a wedge shaped arm rest bolted to the inside of the door, 2 bolts, there are slots for up/down adjustments

Being a 5 seater, did you fold the lower lumbar support up onto the upper shoulder support? The reason I ask is my father in law had the same trouble with his, but didn't fold the lumbar support up. He got the seats to shut down, but the seat cushion and lumbar cushion where holding the seat up enough it wouldn't release. The back 2 cushions need to fit into the passenger leg area. @arl242

After removing all the debris from the back seats and from all the creases it still would not release. Found this latch, pressed on the inside of the rear seats and it released. What is the remedy?

I found that one of the lumbar supports was not put back in place. However after affixing it properly it still wouldn't release. The center latch under the seats is not releasing. It does with slight pressure applied. Now to find the remedy!

Thank you, I lowered these wedges but it didn't do anything. Found that by applying minimal pressure to the center of the bed where the seats adjoin it will release the center latch. Now to the next solution.
