P1000 changing revers gears

im changing out the pioneer 1000 revers gears out for the talon one. are there any other upgrade parts i can put on once im in there to help. iv heard to replace 24331-hl4-000 it goes on the shift drum not sure if there are anymore parts to replace or not. any tips or tricks to help too.

He's putting Talon reverse gears in a Pioneer.

There were only two parts to switch over to Talon reverse. They're in my thread called "sub transmission service." If you stripped out your old gears, you may want to change out the Low shift fork.

Ok thank you. I tried seeing if anyone had done it before or not but could find anything. I will read it I'm guessing it's going to be nice to have something to look over. An no I didn't strip them out I'm just trying to help it in reverse I have bigger tires an play in sand an mudd

Just to update my reverse gear changeout......Working great, have a little more low-end torque in reverse. You can feel the difference with the lower gears. Had mine done at the local Honda dealer. Could have tried myself, but had no place to do it. Plus, cost $450, with my parts and seals. I am glad I did the mod for mountain use. Have a 2017 1000-3 with stock tires and suspension. If I had to do it again I would!
