My P1000-5 is making a noticeable “click” soundright before is upshifts into any gear. Haven’t noticed it while downshifting. It will do it in AT and MT modes. Should it be checked or is it normal?
Only thing thats not normal is first post and no Pics!

Otherwise, it sounds normal to me Also.

My 2022 pioneer 1000 dose it too. I was just assuming it was normal. I don’t even have 25 hours on it yet. Every time it gets warm I smell the plastic and new metal wearing in.

It's just the shift solenoid (not sure what Honda calls it), it's how the whole thing works.

ETA: I looked it up, Honda calls it Shift Control Motor and it's on the right rear corner of the engine.

Thanks; I had a P700-4 and never noticed the clicking, I haven’t owned the P1000-5 very long and was just curious if that was normal or needed checked. Appreciate the helpful responses.

I’ve been hearing it for 2 1/2 years, still going strong.

Farmer Joe, the transmissions are totally different between the pioneer 700-4 and the pioneer 1000-5. Like everyone has said, it's normal. Enjoy.
