Ah yes. . . My saga of good luck continues.

I got my 700-4 back from the clutch being re-built (yes I have a 700 that the clutches were burned up) under warranty. It only took a little over a month to finish the repair. Took it hunting and was putting down some trails at somewhere in the neighborhood of 10mph. Noticed that my high temp light was on. Stopped, shut the machine down then turned the key to get the fan to run. Didn't go. Checked my coolant, was about at the "Min" mark.

Ended up discovering that the fan wasn't plugged in. I found a harness under the drivers side front wheel well that was put together but was never truly seated or "Clicked" together. Squeezed that and life was good. Fan ran, engine seemed to be fine and cool. I wrote off the smell of coolant due to the over heating.

Went for another ride. Smelled coolant again (maybe 50 miles worth of rides later). And again for the next couple of short trips. I opened the hood and noticed the coolant reservoir was dry. I also laid under, in and around and couldn't seem to find any drips on the belly pan/top of skid plates. I THINK I can see most all of the hoses entire length from the radiator to the block and cant see a leak, but I never thought to pull the seat off and peak in for a leak there somewhere.

Hoping to discover a loose clamp tonight when I get to take a good look at it. Spoke with the dealer about it already and they suggested that I bring it in for a pressure test.

Any of you guys ever have an issue with missing coolant? Maybe a loose clamp that I cant see somewhere?

Fingers crossed ill post updates.

If you don’t want to depend on the dealer, cooling system testers are inexpensive and readily available.

Sorry about your luck with the 700. It is not known for having issues, but there are always bad apples in the bunch.

There is a few right around the water pump that can be hard to see. Use a telescoping mirror if you have one. Best way is to pull the skid. Some owners found them loose from the factory. The water pump weep tube is also down there.

This is so shocking that you are having these issues...The 700 is usually like a rock with very few issues, ever.. I think you will get these things worked out, but I am really amazed at these issues you are having... Best of luck. Cooling leak issues are usually pretty easy.. Just look for drips, listen for drips, and you can usually find where the problem is. Since they worked on the motor/tranny ... I would look closer to the motor instead of up front. You said you could smell it, so it must be around something HOT..

You just had major engine work Im thinking they may have not tightened everything....I am hoping you get it back to perfect again.
don't give in to the dealer.A month for clutches was insane. It should not be dripping squat.

I found a blue trail running down the back of my engine and traced it back to the thermostat cover. I retorqued the two bolts and it has stopped so far. Hope that helps you.

I traced mine to the same spot. I took mine back to the dealer so they would top off the fluids and the warranty would cover it. Glad to hear yours is good now! I’m chalking it up to “it was assembled on a Friday” lol.

Well after sitting for a week I came back to take a better look and I think I got a bigger problem than a loose thermostat bolt. I think this is going to be head gasket failure. I purchased on 4-28-17 and it currently has 103 hours. And 103 very easy hours at that. 98% of my drive time is joy riding on country dirt roads going 20-25 mph.

That second pic...had you washed the machine? Looks to be a line of something from further to the right? Got any pics of higher up?

I know these images ain't gone help much since I have already cleaned up the coolant but I do see that trail that you stated in the second pic. I took a pic of my thermostat gasket and you can see the blue color that indicates that it was/ is leaking.

Who knows! I reckon it's time for a compression test to tell the truth

Did you see this? P700 - 2017 P700-2 Antifreeze leaks around head gaskets.

My money's on the housing or one of the hoses, but either way its back to the dealer. Seems like 2017's are having this issue.

Well I dropped my pioneer of at the dealer at approximately 11:30 and I received a phone call at 15:30 saying it was ready to be picked up and ready to go. It ended up being a misseated thermostat gasket. The new gasket was replaced under warranty and coolant was topped off. All is well so far.
