Got the call! The muffler man was staying late tonight to get my truck out before the weekend, he’s got Friday off. Thank you Lord! Big shout out to Dave’s Muffler!! Did a fantastic job.

Banks muffler in, sounds great. Slightly quieter but deeper.

Oh and I figured worth mentioning. Pulled the led lights from the front side marker lights in the fenders and the flashers/parking/brake lights all function correctly now. Lot of waisted time questioning my wiring.
Luckily I I heard from my Cummins buddy you can’t run them in there, has to do with reversing ground to make the two-wire lights get brighter while flashing. Might run relay later to allow led

Last nights drive I noticed a little resistance in the front left brake, checked and it was warmer then I thought should be for the drive it made. Today at lunch I made some curves and down good hill, brake was hot. I think it’s not releasing well.
Could be the 3 years that truck sat, debris getting in or simply was bad but new calipers, rotors and pads for the front end picked up today. Want this thing as right as I can. One more thing before the two week deadline.

Slowly getting things laid out to work. Tough bringing everything down to shop.
got seats pressure washed and looking better. They are in good shape, just mainly 30 years of grim. maybe later new interior.

threw them in the paint booth for a nice long 190 degree bake. Get them dry quickly so no rust. Also finally drug out new carpet, it’s in booth to to relax after being in a box for a year.

Seats seatbelts and center console holes all drilled. Tough figuring out as this cab was a bench seat cab. Did a lot of placement first.
first layer of sound deadener going in that’ll take a bit. 9 more boxes of that crap going in on the floor. Probably around 200 pounds of deadener so far more to go.

Took a bit to heatgun and trim the sound deadening pads. Layer two of sound deadener going in finally. Nether of these steps are factory.

Absolutely beautiful work in all respects on all things you have to that vehicle.
You have earned and deserve the best outcome.

It’s not exactly a resto someone might do on a car but for an old truck it’s coming out pretty good. Just want it to be right down the road😊

Daughter came down and helped with wiring. Wife here too🤗

C755DB26 57CA 4A30 9B41 D34F203E3380

Got all the new wiring ran to the rear amplifier/sub and then to rear doors for speakers and then power windows and door locks which will go in later. Also extended interior cab wiring for interior lights. All ran across the insulation under factory rubber mat.
And mat in. Insulation #3 in the floor. It doesn’t fit this can as well as I’d like so I’ll heat gun it in the AM. I beat, headed home.

What a pain tucking all the material around stuff and keeping holes for seats and belts available.
used the original carpet under the new stuff. Officially layer 4 and 5 going in. Should be quiet lol.
a true carpet kit for this truck isn’t available so getting the universal in and looking good is proving difficult. Looks like I’ll be here for awhile.

Pretty productive day. Carpet all in, needs buttoned down in a few spots is all. Seats and belts all in. I double layered the shift boots and insulated in between.

Stopping is always more important than getting it rolling IMHO. Good decision to just get it done.
