Went to look at a 22 P520 in Silver at a dealership in Austin, TX

Pricing was crazy so wanted to find out if this is normal for these things:

MSRP +$1600 destination charge + $1200 Assembly fee + $500 Doc fees

I fell like this is way out of line but curious as to what others are paying, if any, in additional charges?

That's is reasonable. Looks like my dealer is a no go. I'll keep shopping.

Got my 21 in October after placing deposit in Apr-May. Other than taxes, my invoice included about $220 for "processing," $760 for "transportation," and $400 for "set-up." This was a Birmingham, Alabama area dealer. I'm typically frugal/cheap, but because of personal and market circumstances I just tried to ignore the ugly details.

When it finally arrived at the dealership, my sales guy told me they could've sold it about 10 times during the day it was there before my pickup. I'm confident he wasn't exaggerating.

Good luck. Expect you'll be pleased when you do get one. I've been very pleased.

I would have to go back and look, but got my 2021 P520 and the dealer wanted to mark up everything. I talked to the GM and they came reduced the extra charges. I think I ended up paying $10,800 out the door. I'm sure I gave too much compared to others, but I was happy to find one so early in the year.

Had one dealer tell me (dealer was hour away from me) that freight and surcharges had gone up 3-$4000 on the P500/520 models. My local dealer quoted me destination charges had gone up from $685 to $885 and no surcharges. Local dealer said it sad some dealerships are taking advantage of this situation.

We are in what is known as a seller's market. Inflation - created by our corrupt and incompetent government is rampant. Prices and costs of everything are rising fast. The official inflation rate is at least 7%/year. My guess is it's actually much higher than tat.

Dealers are struggling to stay afloat with little or no inventory to sell. Some dealers probably receive one new unit from Honda monthly. They try to earn as much profit as possible on each sale.

Blaming dealers is not reasonable. They didn't create the problems.

Buyers have two simple choices: Buy at inflated prices or don't buy at all.

In November my boy just received his CRF125 he ordered exactly 6 months before it came in. We placed the order for a 2021 but when it arrived it was actually a 2022. My local small dealer has always been good to us and never asked for any more then what we negotiated, which they could have easily done being the market we are in. We are pretty close to Salt Lake and many people were selling 3-4 year old bikes for $1-2 thousand more then a brand new one and they don't stay advertised long. I'm sure this is the situation all over. I guess the moral of the story is to find a good dealer that will take care of you and hopefully you can take care of them too.

If anyone in Central Missouri is interested in a 520 there is 2 available at Jones Honda in Columbia Mo. Gray and brown. Dealer called me to let me know. But I had already bought one

I just took a merciless a$$ raping on one. $13670 out the door. All other dealers ( that had one in Transit) were around the same. It was "buy it now", or I have it sold 7 more time today. I didn't get to see it or start it up and test drive it. Just stroked a checked. I am very thankful that it works for me, but very sour on price and sales conditions.

Picked mine up today! I put a deposit down in early December. I was very lucky to get one. Few and far between around here.

Found a 520 4 hours away, out the door for $10,400. That's without taxes and title. Thought that was pretty decent compared to what some dealerships had quoted me. Hopefully it shows up tomorrow! Using Uship to get it here.

I had a deposit down at two other dealerships that I got refunded because I found this one. If anyone is looking for a 520 in eastern Nebraska, there should be a couple available soon. Should be a '22 red one and a Blue '21 at one dealer in early march. Possibly a brown one at the end of May.

Welcome from Elkhorn!

KC, Des Moines or Sioux Falls to get yours? Last year at this time I had a deposit on a P520 at the powersports dealer south of Lincoln. They told me early April which turned into late June... In early May, I bought one on the showroom floor in Glenwood Springs Co. I too got my deposit back. The Omaha dealers were not even interested in taking a deposit or ordering.

Hello! (From Gretna)

I had a deposit down with that same dealer in Lincoln. Agree on the ones here in Omaha, although Dillion Brothers was the one that is getting a couple in. I actually found mine in Iowa. Mason City Honda, I believe they're a powerhouse.
