Looks like you cooking with gas now! Excited to see the finished product.
Yeah right. Just ole country boy with a bandsaw and a welder lol. One of these days I'm getting a tubing bender and a notcher. Then I can really start making some cool stuff. Maybe. First on list is some rock sliders.Looking good brother. Time for you to start your own line of accessories !
I was thinking some kind of a hinged mount that would flip down like the cow catcher on the front of a semi. Just a thought...What say ye concerning the mount? Not alot of options here. Take into consideration I don't really use the dump feature. Should I go ahead or keep looking? @CumminsPusher @joeymt33 @sharp @drfubar @moparornocar I respect y'all's opinions alot. There are more I just can't remember everyone lol. If I forgot your name overlook it. My memory sucks.
You lost me man. Do you mean the hinge where the whole cab flips up?I was thinking some kind of a hinged mount that would flip down like the cow catcher on the front of a semi. Just a thought...
I'm pretty sure that's what he's talking about... the grille lays down then the hood can be tilted forwardYou lost me man. Do you mean the hinge where the whole cab flips up?
No, if you put the bumper itself on a hinge, so when you want to use the dump bed you pull a pin and the bumper lays down parallel to the ground then you can dump the bed. Use a sprung loaded hitch pin so you don't have to screw with a Cotter pinYou lost me man. Do you mean the hinge where the whole cab flips up?
Oh okay. That's a dang good idea! I may work on that on the side in case I want to change things up later on.No, if you put the bumper itself on a hinge, so when you want to use the dump bed you pull a pin and the bumper lays down parallel to the ground then you can dump the bed. Put torsion springs on it so there's nothing to mess with. Bumper just automatically folds over (under spring pressure). Is that what you're talking about?Like this. Just pretend the grille guard is your bumper and the hood is the dump bed

No, it's not under any pressure. It's just a hinge, you pin it in place and pull the pin to release it, then it just lays down like the grille guard in the pic. Then your dump bed works as advertised.Put torsion springs on it so there's nothing to mess with. Bumper just automatically folds over (under spring pressure). Is that what you're talking about?
But with that torsion spring, you wouldn't have to pull anything. The bumper would just fold down when the bed hit it. Then would spring back up when bed was lowered. No, it's not under any pressure. That is true, if you made some sort of striker plate to make contact with the bed to avoid marking up the bed from contact with the bumper. But with that torsion spring, you wouldn't have to pull anything. True. That'd be a pretty cool setup. While everybody else had bumpers hanging near the ground to clear the bed, this one would be form fitting right up next to the body. That is true, if you made some sort of striker plate to make contact with the bed to avoid marking up the bed from contact with the bumper.
You build a second one I got dibsTrue. That'd be a pretty cool setup. While everybody else had bumpers hanging near the ground to clear the bed, this one would be form fitting right up next to the body.
It's missing something @Delton. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Red spray paint!Say hello to my little friend..... Whatcha think? Gotta admit I'm totally happy with it. Took a section out of the middle to leave room for hooking up trailer tongue. Plus it breaks up the lines and looks good imo.View attachment 25054 View attachment 25055 View attachment 25056
