I put mobile one 75-90 in my rear on my 700. It seemed to help some with the noise but it's still there.

You should put a 75-140 or something. I used 50% lucas and that really helped.

I like the 75-140 thought but 50% additive eeeeeeeeee might be a little high for my likings but lucas is the best ive use their stuff a lot with good resluts

With the lucas, I don't have any gear whine until I've rode hard for about an hour. Once warmed up and thinned out, the gears still whine a little but not as loud. I started out with less Lucas and then later drained some and added more. Time will tell but so far it good.

Pardon my ignorance but what is Lucas Oil Stabilizer? Is it just an oil substitute?
Is this the one?

Are you adding half Lucas to the 75-140 or to the 80-90. Thinking on changing my diff fluids too gear whine is pretty loud at 30 mph

I added that to O'Reillys storebrand 80–90. It was in there for maybe 600 miles until I got water in it last week.

Right now I just have standard 8090 because I will drain it again to make sure I got all the water out. And I can tell the gear noise is much louder.

Mobil 1 75 w140 really quiets things down.
I have run Mobil 1 motor oil in my cars and trucks for years with great results. I like the idea of Mobil 1 75/140 in the differentials and don't see any possible harm since they share no fluids with the DCT transmission.

Thanks for the input JCart. I just read a little about the Red Line Shockproof gear oil and found it very interesting. When accelerating or decelerating (engine braking) it is quiet enough, but the rear differential on my P5 makes a LOT of noise when its not under load. Seems to be a lot of "slop" in the gears. The propaganda on the Shockproof oil makes me think it might help more than just using a heavier weight synthetic, but I'm always the skeptic. Anybody else have any experience or comments about it?
