Version 1.2 complete.
Fits perfect.
Need to find a wood replacement as it will compress and loosen up over time. Maybe hardwood would be better for V2.
Also need to secure the mount better than 4 wood screws.
Also searching for chainsaw mount ideas.
I want to get a top handle 8 inch gas to be my trail saw.

Are you wanting to keep the saw where it's at in the pic? If a 4x4 block of wood will fit in that space just take your saw and plunge cut into the top of it all the way into it the length of the bar. Looks like you could easily attach the 4x4 there. Then bungee the saw to keep it from moving.
Nice work BTW

IDK.. I want to buy a small top handle saw with like a 8" blade, but good lord are they expensive!
I'm about to order a $150 one from china man.
In that spot. I would swing out with the door.

I modified mine last week as well. I want to get some expanded metal on top.

Just a couple I've seen. The roll bar mount I would have the saw to the inside somehow. And then the wood block I was talking about. Defintely wouldn't want it hanging off the back though

I am not sure how much space you have between the lid of the toolbox, and the front of the XL box when closed.
But if you wanted to gain another roughly 1 1/2". You could probably mount these to a piece of 1/2" plywood, then mount the ply to the swing arm.
Maybe not this exact product, but an equivalent aluminum mount. I have seen some on etsy that were 1 piece I would order over the Amazon option.

Oh no. I'd rip those chainsaw locations off quick. lol.

@Neohio, I like what I have so far. Fitment is perfect.
My only concern is the wood compressing the first ride and just becoming a rattlebox.
ratchet strap will solve that if it does.

How much the wood compresses will be related to how old the 2x4 is you used. If it has been kicking around a few years, you will probably be fine. If it is fresh from the home center. It is probably loose already.

If I recall, this was Monty's Talon @WagginTail posted, Could you make that mount work if you did it on the inside right where you keep it now (vertical)? Looks like it would hold up if kept inside the extender...

That'll work. Looks good. My boss bought me a Stihl 194T. I might have to make something similar. Have you tried out the saw yet?

I only did a few test cuts. It's new. I bought one of the cheapest top handles I could find just for this project.
I'll have to rethink this to a better location before I spend $400+ for a brand name top handle. Lol.

First look at that picture i thought wow, that guy does pack a lot of stuff! Maybe she's right and i have had enough beer today
I hope I packed enought for 4 days and 50+ miles from the truck.
Still have a cooler, 2g of gas, and a case of water to add.

It's a good thing you have the faster and powerful RED Talon with all the weight your hauling!! :)
Lighter than 2 additional people. lol
Minus the 40lb bottom toolbox, the others don't have any weight.
I'll do a full walk-through when I'm done.

Fantastic setup. Love the tool box concept. I ordered the Talon special edition but that never materialized. May wait a little longer and try again. The suspension looks amazing on the new Talon. I need a softer ride and a little more comfort.
