How does everyone of these threads get so off track lol. I think we all have the attention span of a five year old.

Omg yes. Sorry! But in my defense you posted the picture of that beast and I can't not admire and dream about it so it's your fault this time!

What would you guess dimensions on that approx? Are you going under the seat or behind dash?

Guessing it's 3" thick by 6" long by 6" tall. And not really sure on placement. I'm thinking just below the drivers seat through the vertical plastic wall in links of a bulk head type of mounting so it will be flush. And during the summer time I can pull the fan off the motor spin it around and pull air through it for cooling like everyone does with the bilge tank fans. It's a bummer that this motor is only made to spin one way and not multidirectional. Bit it's only held on to the motor shaft with a Alan head set screw

Good info on reversing motor. I think that'll keep you really warm I looked it up but didn't see size that'll go great into that area and water is right there you'll have a winner. Way more btu then stock. Great little find

Has any body put the OEM heater on their rig?

Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
Yep I had the oem heater installed as part of the cold weather package, the only thing I don't like is it is installed right under the driver seat and I was told not to get it submerged. so no deep water for me. but thats ok

After lots of thinking about it i wasnt willing to loose what little storage that was under the seat just for a heater so said f*#$ it and cut a hole in the center hoping it would fit

so much for being able to regulate the flow of coolent through the heater, just looked to see where the oem one picks up its source for coolent, you cut the oil cooler coolent line wich is half inch adapt it up to what ever size your heaters line is, oem is 3/4" but mine is 5/8". so slowing down the flow with a valve is out of the question, unless there is a unused pluged off port near the water pump? not familiar enough with the machine yet, has any one seen any thing like that around the water pump?

Yea i guess that would work the cooler would still get the same amount of flow throufh it and when the valve is open most of the coolent would go through heater being that it is a larger line at 5/8. I was just thinking i might just not cut the factory line and remove it completely but reinstall it back to stock in the spring

Update me on how this went. I want to t instead of run the coolant through my heater core and then my radiator. That way if I shut my heater core off, the coolant will flow normally through the stock lines. I haven't got out and looked quite yet, but here's a terrible sketch on what I was gonna shoot for

F59e07e931bb0b41fa921364da005afb

Also, I'm gonna use a radiator fan. It's something like 1300 cfm. I'm hoping it's not gonna outrun my heater core

Turned out ok for what it was. I think youll need the right dia "t" to tap into the rad. Hoses. One thing to think about with doing the way you want is there will not be any heat or coolant flow every time the thermostat closes. But with hooking up to the oil cooler line i assume it is inside of the thermostat so constantly getting coolant flow. How come you are wanting to do the rad hoses instead?
