The old 450 foremans had "traxlok" which required you to lightly apply front brake when spinning in mud to spin both front tires. (This worked ok when new and pathetic when over 500 miles)
On our old foreman we would install a 1/8" washer inside the front diff (Between part 13 and 14)and rearrange the "teeth" (Part 12) so the "traxlok" assembly (part #8) would bolt back together.
(Definitely not an elegant solution but very effective)
The picture attached is of a talon front diff. It appears for someone who was ok with having the front end locked up solid 100% of the time the same method would apply.
It doesn't seem like there would be any adverse reaction by the "I4WD" system since it would just no longer activate because the shafts would always spin the same speed.
While I have yet to find anywhere that the I4wd doesn't work well this seems like a cheap / free solution for someone who has a problem.
