P1000m5 Dragon21's build

Dragon21 submitted a new Garage Item:

Here We Go Again... 1000-5 This Time

Well, now that the 700-4 is gone and the 1000-5 is home. its time to get started on the build again. I really try to go slow and pace myself. however that doesnt always work that way. When i got it, it had roof and windshield as part of the deal.

Ordered a winch and mount, synthetic rope and fairlead for it, HL snorkel, Amazon switch plate, fuse box, 100amp disconnect.

still plan to get a honda front bumper, lightbars, and soundbar.. when money permits.

debating about dual battery setup... not sure if ill do that or not. I dont tend to use radio or lights when its not running.

I have found I can't go slow either. Grats on purchase. What's with the 100amp disconnect?

Got ya, make sense. May look into that as well for mine. I have purchased another battery and fuse panel and plan on installing after vacation. May hit you up with questions on wiring :)

what battery did you go with? Gotta start looking into that to add to my amazon wishlist. waiting to get all my electrical components in before i start installing them all.

Has anyone installed a full size battery in there rig? I've noticed a large space big enough for it under the driver side seat."1000-3"
I believe there are people who opt for one yellow top battery for their whole system or place the battery in that area. I decided to stay under the hood because there were so many holes in that box for mud, water, and lord knows what else. I plan on putting a few tools and what not under my seat.

My hood area on the 1000-3 is packed.., there may be a spot for a small lawnmower type battery. I just don't want to cut myself off before I pick a snorkel kit

People seem to like the odyssey 925 for the spot under the hood. Im going with the knockoff of that one, the mighty max.

After reading how if you run too much off your main battery, it can effect the computer in the system and in result effect the clutches, potentially causing them to stay engaged too long... ive decided im gonna play it safe and run a second battery with a True brand isolator.

I've read the same things, and no doubt about the 2nd battery

Opted for the Yellowtop under the driver seat and kept this area open for relays and fuse panel! Also have battery disconnect in line!

I'm still on the fence on battery location. Does anybody know if I put a 2nd battery under the hood if it would interfere with installation of a High lifter snokel?

It shouldn't. I got a high lifter snorkel and putting a battery in the molded spot for a 2nd battery
