does it really help cut down the dust? My concern is do you lose any power with air having to be drawn that extra distance. If you put an elbow at the top and face it forward then its going to suck more dust and if you face the elbows facing back then it seems it would be difficut to draw air. What are everyones thoughs on this?
If i put my arm by it when looking back to back up she starts flapping my sleeve if its close

I understand taking the windshield off, but as we go towards fall I was really looking forward to keeping those fridged morning rides a little warmer.
As I've been looking at the front it looks like the major holes are where the pedals and 2wd/4wd selector is. I think figuring out a way to seal those and it may cut out the dust.

Correct...Keep in mind when you exericence all that dust in the cab gets into everything. By this I mean if you are riding in a lot of dusty areas check your air filter OFTEN. I have to clean mine every couple of rides and you would not believe the amount of dirt that gets sucked into the air filter.
Those holes ..letting in dust..
also let's in warmth...in the winter
just sayin
The radiator/fan but IMO it's negligible at best, given the amount of open area under the hood it's not a reliable source of heat. In the Northern climates, especially in winter the fan rarely turns on regardless of the vehicle.....quad, car, truck etc.How do they let heat in? What's putting out heat in the front?

Its a screen/drain cap piece. I believe it fits the id of the pipe so i had to cut a piece of pipe the length of the collar on the 90 and then glue it inside the pipe and then inside the 90. I dont recall for sure but i think that was how it was.

Between that heat & seat belt heat...The radiator/fan but IMO it's negligible at best, given the amount of open area under the hood it's not a reliable source of heat. In the Northern climates, especially in winter the fan rarely turns on regardless of the vehicle.....quad, car, truck etc.
Do you use any type of filter at the opening??(pre filter or just the one in the box)?Just an idea, cut a small piece of pipe at an angle to fit in the last 90. Gives it a hood so water won't just roll in. Used drain covers for mine too, fit in the 90 so small pipe piece holds them in. Opened them up a little in the centers with bigger holes.

Dude should of said..Just the one in the box. We have a lot of water and humidity here, have only been on one REALLY dusty ride.
Yep..NOOOOOOOOOOO!
I've done it. The dust sticks to the rain-X. It's worse.
