Here is the start of my build thread. 2023 1000-5 trail edition. Purchased in May.
Factory upgrades included full hard cab and dealer installed inferno heater.

The first official upgrade I did myself was to install a backup camera with lights. I made this bracket and attached it to the rollbar using muffler clamps. Way cheaper and will last longer than the honda rollbar clamps😂😂

As ya'll will see I'm very much the kinda guy to use what I have laying around before buying...

The light output is pretty bad. I got a case of those lights from my brother when they were clearing out a warehouse at his work. Now I know why they were getting rid of them. They will be getting replaced before winter. Thanks to the club store for their handy reverse light pigtail!

I tried a couple of different monitors and have the bigger one in for now. The one that came in the kit worked but was only a 4 inch screen and blurry. This one is nice, big and clear but is super slow to turn on.

One thing those crappy lights did work good for was a bed light and interior dome light. I was able to tap into the existing floor courtesy light under the seat. I ran the wiring down the driverside rollbar to get under the seat.

When I was shopping I looked at the Kubota RTV X1100C as well as the Pioneer. Those were the only two I looked at because I didn't want anything with a drivebelt. I really wanted the Kubota but I did not want to go with a crew model and the way their driver station setup you really are limited to 2 people in the cab . I wanted something that would fit 3 mostly well in the cab, and for my family of 4 if we all go somewhere then we have the back seats to use, so the honda it was. The dealer had 3 of the 1000-5 trails in stock when I looked at it and after a week of looking around my local dealer had about as good of price as any so I was able to get the last one. I really wanted the forest edition but I couldn't find one in the entire state of MN at the time and it wasn't worth it to me to drive 11 hours to south dakota just for camo. That being said I am glad I got the trail. The fox shocks are AMAZING.

Up next I made my own mudbusters out of some old conveyor belting I had left over from being used as a weed mat. The passengers and stuff in the back was getting too dirty. I did it in two pieces so that the bed can still dump. Cutting it to fit around the rollbar was the worst. I had $7 into misc bolts and hardware.

Keeping the theme of use what ya got I made the following light bar using a couple of muffler clamps, square tubing and some angle iron. The lights were some halogen flood lights I had laying around. Should work well for snow plowing. The plan was to wire into the extra factory switch after I add a secondary fuse block and relays and such. The lights draw about 10 amps so a relay is required.

Up next was to create a mount for a winch in the bed that mounted to the roll bar. This was a small, old viper winch that I had laying around left over from my 99 foreman 450 from when I upgraded the winch on it to something better. My plan is not to use it for recovery of the vehicle but rather to assist with pulling a deer or something like that into the bed. I started out using my handy redneck drill press to drill some holes in some flat stock and then bolted the winch and its mount to a piece of heavy U-Channel. It is attached via u bolts to the roll bar. I have yet to wire it up.

So I'm skipping ahead on some stuff on my build because I have ran into a snag. I have a v-plow and do not know where to mount the control box, any suggestions? The last two switch locations on the dash are spoken for....

I know absolutely nothing about plows other then they plow snow 🙄🤦‍♂️

What r the switches for? Do you have to use often/constantly while steering? Right or left handed when plowing? Do they fit just left of the steering wheel kind of to the right of the light switch? I think I've seen people put a cpl switches there before for turn signals etc, but not sure if that triple would fit.

The switches control the hydraulics on the plow, up/down, and in/out on both sides of the V

Gotcha 👍......yeah 906's idea of having it be a detachable unit is the way I'd go then if it were me. I've seen a lot of people just use their wenches is why I'd figure mounting it fixed. But if they're just plow dedicated switches and you're not running the plow all year long then a detachable unit would be ideal in my opinion....

My buddy purchased an entire Denali Pro Series UTV Snow Plow Kit from the HondaSXS.com Club Store.

He got the HydroTurn kit with the joystick controller that lets you control the up/down/left/right of the plow blade all with a single controller. Pretty cool.

@dweber23tr for the plow switch.

This might be something to consider

The pioneer is currently out of stock. Maybe @Hondasxs could give us an ETA on inventory.

Looks like Ian has them in stock on the Crossroads3D web site. Not sure if @Hondasxs has them drop ship these or not. Great company to work with.

It would be cool if they could be custom ordered with maybe 3 slots for @dweber23tr application.

Oooh I have an idea for the fourth slot. LED lights that are on the plow system itself to shine over the blade.
