Leaning towards the stage 3 but I was wondering about the stage two's just cause I know I'll get obsessed with cjanging with the settings on stage 3
I can't speak for the stage 2's, but the stage 5's made a big difference. I think the winch sent the P1 crashing on it's nose!I’d pony up for Stage 2 if I knew that there was a drastic difference over the re-purposed 1975 CB750 shocks that come stock on base and Deluxe models.
What about the walker Evans options? I was told those was comparable to the Elka stage 3"s a little better price but wondering about that performance
@joeymt33 has the walker evans.

I had the Walker Evans probably almost 2 years ago I switched to Elka stage III. The Walker Evans were good and there were no problems with them other than the squeaky noise they always made. It was from inside the shocks internally so there was nothing I could do about it.
I didn’t know you were on elkas now.

I heard you say that when we were riding but I didn’t correct you because I thought you accidentally said that.
I got the walker evans in November of 2016 and then replaced them with Elka 3 in April of 2017.
So as far as performance is there a difference in your opinion between the elka"s and Walker Evans?
Not that I could tell.
The biggest performance gains for me is as adding new springs as my vehicle got heavier with dual batteries, dual winches, stereo, etc. so pick any shock you want and get the springs to match your weight. If you’re putting 2” of preload in the spring or more you could consider going up in spring rate. The springs are $45 at summit racing.
But I assume way better than stock? Mine is pretty light warn 4500 winch bigger get honda bumper, sometimes carry 3 gallons of gas a small chainsaw and a passenger so not a big load at all
IYou probably wouldn’t need any modification. Just buy some shocks and adjust the preload to your liking. They would ride a lot smoother.
I put a 3/4 inch spacer under the stock shock on a 2016. gained about 2” in height and a little stiffer ride. The cost was $5.00
Think the winch set ours over the edge!But I assume way better than stock? Mine is pretty light warn 4500 winch bigger get honda bumper, sometimes carry 3 gallons of gas a small chainsaw and a passenger so not a big load at all
