But I assume way better than stock? Mine is pretty light warn 4500 winch bigger get honda bumper, sometimes carry 3 gallons of gas a small chainsaw and a passenger so not a big load at all

A spring spacer? Or a bracket actually under the shock?

It’s under the spring It sits on the stock Honda mount on the impressions honda put on the shock that holds the bottom of the spring. I also put a piece og steel tubing about 5” long inside the spacer up into the spring to keep everything centered.

Similar to this? This is what we used but on top of the spring. It adds preload to add lift so it does make a stiffer ride.

The spring on the factory shocks isn't the only subpar component on the shock!

That’s it except mine is on the bottom. Cheap fix but it works ok

I agree. It’s a cheap fix but it has worked OK for us

My friend told me he heard Walker Evans was offering a pretty good discount when you order there shocks if you mention that you're a member of this for anyone got any info to back that up

What about the walker Evans options? I was told those was comparable to the Elka stage 3"s a little better price but wondering about that performance

I've ran Walker Evans going on 2 years and been very happy. No leaking or squeaking!

Did they do away with the squeaky sound?

Here is a video I did from couple years ago. Walker Evans responded saying this noise was internal and not the bushings or anything else.

WOW!!!! Those things did squeak. Were they like that from the get? I've got about 2,000 miles on mine and not a single squeak.
I would have been one upset customer over that!

They were like that since new and Walker Evans said it was normal. There were other people early in the pioneer days that said the same thing though I can’t remember who it was.

Oh, I wasn’t upset about it. You really couldn’t hear it over the exhaust and sitting in the driver seat. Only when doing some slow rock crawling could you hear it. It was more everybody else asking me why don’t i grease my bushings. They were a good shock and I thought they performed well but I run onto a good deal with the Elka that I could not pass up.

I had the Walker Evans probably almost 2 years ago I switched to Elka stage III. The Walker Evans were good and there were no problems with them other than the squeaky noise they always made. It was from inside the shocks internally so there was nothing I could do about it.

From stock to the stage 3 elka's is it a great improvement, worth the 2k price? I live in NC loose rocks lots of roots and off camper rutted trails @joeymt33

I can’t justify it for you but I know that I’d buy better shocks again if I purchased another pioneer.

I’d buy the Fox shocks over the Elka or WE just for the money savings though. I don’t think you be able to tell a difference in the ride unless you wanted Elka stage 5 but those are quite expensive.

The OEM upgrade from Honda or the pioneer LE shocks.

Decide to go with fox qs3 shocks. Try to contact a few places I heard on here was giving the best price on them but have had no luck, any info on best place to buy would be appreciated
